The role being offered is for an assembler responsible for the precise assembly of aviation mechanical, fuel, and electrical parts and accessories. This position demands meticulous attention to detail and skilled use of assembly tools and equipment. The assembler plays a key role in the production line, working either at a bench or on the shop floor to assemble complex components following blueprints and operational descriptions. Responsibilities include fastening parts, performing basic soldering, and shaping parts for a proper fit using hand tools. Proficiency with equipment such as drill presses, riveting machines, soldering tools, and testing instruments is essential. The assembler must adhere strictly to safety protocols and maintain cleanliness and organization in the work area.

The position requires a high school diploma or GED coupled with at least six months of related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in aviation assembly is preferred, and assembling experience is a must. A strong technical aptitude is necessary to read and interpret blueprints, as well as circuit and wiring diagrams. Candidates must be comfortable using various assembly equipment, including volt/ohm meters, power supplies, riveting machines, soldering equipment, and small hand and pneumatic tools.

Physically, the role requires the regular ability to lift up to 50 pounds from floor to waist level, highlighting the importance of physical stamina and strength in this job. Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Position parts according to knowledge of unit being assembled by following blueprints and/or operational descriptions
  • fasten parts together with bolts, screws, speed clips, rivets, or other fasteners
  • remove small quantities of metal with hand files and scrapers to produce close fit between parts
  • perform basic soldering of components as required by process instructions
  • utilize drill presses, punch presses, riveting machines, soldering equipment, testing equipment, and small and pneumatic hand tools to assist in assembly processes
  • use all required safety equipment
  • maintain and clean equipment and work area
