The role of an Assembler at Crane Company is pivotal in ensuring the accurate assembly of products in line with engineering specifications and quality standards. Assemblers are responsible for interpreting engineering drawings, bills of materials, sales and assembly drawings, and master comments from the QAD system to correctly assemble products. This role requires a keen eye for detail to evaluate both the performance and visual characteristics of assembled products. As part of the production team, the assembler will work collaboratively to meet departmental goals and hourly production targets while adhering to safety policies and 5S workplace organization principles. The position emphasizes the importance of quality control, requiring the assembler to follow test procedures, input test results into databases, and complete First Article Inspections accurately. Regular participation in team meetings, including daily morning huddles and All Hands Meetings, is essential to stay aligned with production goals and continuous improvement initiatives.

This position offers a competitive hourly wage ranging from $20.80 to $25.47, reflecting the skill and commitment required. The role demands physical stamina and dexterity, including the ability to sit or stand for prolonged periods, perform some repetitive motions such as pushing, pulling, and gripping, and lift weights up to 35 lbs. The assembler must pass basic math and English tests with a minimum 75% accuracy and dexterity assessment, and be capable of reading blueprints and using pneumatic and hand tools safely and effectively. Computer proficiency is also necessary to handle data input related to test results and production documentation. Job Duties

  • Assemble product by referring to engineering drawings
  • correctly interpret production documentation including work instructions, assembly processes and test procedures
  • input test results into the First Pass Yield database and complete First Article Inspection
  • work as part of a team to achieve departmental goals and meet hourly targets
  • attend daily morning huddles and All Hands Meetings and update work station KPI
  • maintain work area in accordance with safety policies and 5S principles
  • follow quality control checks and report safety incidents and quality issues on the floor
