Currently, Safety Clean LLC is seeking a reliable and hardworking Porter to join their team at an ASPCA service facility located in the Bronx. This position is a full-time role with shifts scheduled Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM to 4:30 PM. The porter will play a critical role in maintaining cleanliness and order within the facility to support the overall well-being of both visitors and staff. The starting pay rate for this position is $17 per hour, reflecting the importance of the role and the company’s commitment to fair compensation. In this role, the Porter will be responsible for various cleaning and maintenance duties essential to keeping the facility in pristine condition. Key responsibilities include cleaning and sanitizing restrooms and bathrooms following established guidelines, dusting and wiping furniture, and maintaining floors by sweeping, mopping, or vacuuming. The porter will also be tasked with emptying and cleaning wastebaskets and trash receptacles, replacing light bulbs, and refilling restroom dispensers to ensure continuous availability of necessary supplies. The position requires the proficient use and upkeep of assigned power equipment and hand tools, such as buffers, auto scrubbers, extractors, high-pressure washers, high-speed buffers, vacuum cleaners, brooms, mops, and squeegees. These tools are crucial for effective cleaning and general maintenance of floors, walls, carpets, and furniture, contributing to a safe and welcoming environment. Following chemical use instructions carefully is also essential to maintain safety and effectiveness in cleaning operations. Additional responsibilities include performing exterior maintenance tasks like removing snow or debris from sidewalks using hand shovels and exterior squeegees and distributing calcium chloride salt using salt spreaders to prevent slippery conditions during winter. The role also involves daily professional interaction with customers, vendors, and supervisors, requiring strong communication skills and a customer-focused attitude.
