The role of Assistant Room Attendant / Housekeeper is pivotal in our operations as it directly impacts the guest experience and overall perception of our hotel. Reporting to the Head of Cleaning (Jefe de limpieza), the Assistant Room Attendant is responsible for ensuring that all guest rooms and public areas are consistently clean, orderly, and welcoming. This position requires attentiveness to detail, a positive and optimistic attitude, and the ability to maintain cleanliness standards that meet or exceed hotel policies. The role entails routine cleaning activities including changing bed linens, replenishing supplies, dusting, vacuuming, bathroom sanitation, and more, all executed with a professional sense of urgency to meet budgeted targets on room turnover times.
Additionally, the occupant of this role must safeguard guest trust by maintaining strict confidentiality, following all health, safety, and sanitation regulations as mandated by federal, state, local, and brand-specific guidelines. The Assistant Room Attendant contributes to an atmosphere where guests feel safe and confident in the hygiene of their accommodations. This includes adherence to OSHA guidelines, safe handling of cleaning chemicals, and organized management of workspaces and cleaning equipment.
The Assistant Room Attendant also interacts directly with guests during their cleaning activities by greeting them and ensuring their needs are met courteously. Communication within the housekeeping team is vital, with regular participation in staff meetings and ongoing training to maintain high standards and improve service delivery. This role also supports the annual deep cleaning and housekeeping projects and assists in the training of new personnel, fostering a collaborative and positive workplace environment.

Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Able to follow safety and sanitation regulations
- Physically able to perform cleaning tasks including lifting and standing for long periods
- Good communication skills
- Positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and holidays
Job Qualifications

Job Duties
- Maintain a positive and optimistic personality to deliver excellent customer service and cleaning to guests
- Maintain a professional appearance and behavior including wearing the approved uniform and name tag
- Uphold the highest level of confidentiality in all areas providing guests with the highest level of trust in housekeeping staff
- Demonstrate a professional sense of urgency while cleaning rooms and public spaces to meet budgeted minutes per room
- Clean and restock all assigned rooms including changing bed linens, replacing supplies, dusting, vacuuming, storing supplies, emptying trash, cleaning bathrooms and appliances
- Keep the Head of Cleaning informed about room status in a timely manner
- Greet guests across the property
- Strictly adhere to all federal, state, local and brand health, safety, and sanitation guidelines
- Complete full training on safety, alcohol, health, and safety
- Follow OSHA and chemical handling procedures
- Maintain clean and organized workspaces, storage rooms, and cleaning carts
- Work in an organized step-by-step manner
- Monitor the condition of furniture, walls, moldings, carpets, and appliances and report any deficiencies according to hotel policies
- Keep communication lines open within the housekeeping department and attend all relevant meetings
- Adhere to key control guidelines
- Assist with annual, quarterly, spring and fall cleaning tasks as assigned
- Follow procedures for handling lost and found items
- Help train new staff
- Participate and support a positive and pleasant work environment
- Maintain knowledge of hotel services such as food and beverage and recreation
- Perform other assigned duties
