The role of the CASAS Student Assistant is primarily focused on delivering excellent customer service within the Academic Success Center for Academic Success (CASAS). This part-time position requires working at least two evenings a week and involves direct interaction with students, staff, and visitors to provide a welcoming and organized environment. The Student Assistant serves as a receptionist responsible for greeting visitors, checking in guests for their tutoring or writing appointments, and answering phone inquiries. This position also holds the vital responsibility of being the emergency point of contact during all assigned shifts, ensuring safety and prompt response to any emergencies. The position requires availability for evening shifts typically from 5 to 9 pm Monday through Thursday.

In addition to fostering an inviting atmosphere in the lobby area, the CASAS Student Assistant maintains cleanliness and order within the designated spaces. Flexibility to cover additional hours when necessary and to work effectively as part of a team is essential. The position demands strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact respectfully and professionally with individuals from various educational, cultural, and social backgrounds. Candidates for this role must be current residential Liberty University students with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.5. The CASAS Student Assistant must also demonstrate excellent organizational abilities, reliability, and the capability to multi-task and perform well under pressure.
