Known for its innovative approach to health information technology, Epic designs software that supports a wide range of care delivery models, enhancing patient care and staff efficiency across healthcare institutions globally. The company proudly fosters a diverse and inclusive workplace where technology and creativity meet to produce tools that improve lives. It has earned a reputation not only for its cutting-edge solutions but also for its unique campus environment that promotes productivity, creativity, and a sense of community among its employees.
Based in the scenic city of Madison, WI — recognized as one of the greenest cities in America and an emerging hub for tech talent — Epic offers employees an extraordinary opportunity to live affordably in a vibrant, young professional community. Madison is celebrated for its fitness culture, appeal to renters, and overall quality of life, making it an excellent location for professionals seeking to grow in a dynamic setting.
The Bread Baker role at Epic is a highly creative and hands-on position located in a brand new, state-of-the-art baking facility that opened in June 2023. This role is integral to the culinary team, responsible for composing and scratch-baking a diverse assortment of bakery goods such as hearth breads, artisan loaves, dinner rolls, buns, and more. Working in this position means joining a passionate team of culinary experts where continuous learning and experimentation are strongly encouraged. The daily-changing Epic menus provide bakers with the opportunity to try new recipes and perfect traditional favorites with full autonomy and a pathway to leadership.
Employees in this role benefit from a comprehensive support system including a full benefits package with $0 co-pay health insurance, dental, vision coverage, and generous paid time off. Additionally, Epic offers competitive pay with annual bonuses and raises, relocation assistance, and chances to develop professionally with mentors and workshops alongside world-class bakery staff. Special perks include affordable restaurant-quality meals, easy access to a variety of workspaces including cozy fireplaces, and a unique sabbatical program after five years, promoting work-life balance and personal growth.
Epic not only values the quality of work its employees contribute but also recognizes their broader impact on the company and clients by offering merit-based compensation, bonuses, and stock grants. The role requires relocation to the Madison area, with support provided, making this an excellent opportunity for national candidates seeking growth in their baking careers. Furthermore, the company is committed to inclusive hiring, embracing diversity, equity, and inclusion as foundational principles that bolster the creation of equitable healthcare solutions worldwide.
This Bread Baker position demands a professional background in baking, ideally with at least two years in a professional kitchen or a Baking & Pastry Arts degree. Large-volume baking experience is a plus. Candidates must be eligible to work in the U.S. without sponsorship and available to work Sunday through Thursday. COVID-19 vaccination is also required. Epic is proud to provide a workplace where culinary professionals can thrive, innovate, and contribute to a cutting-edge, impactful culinary program within a global health technology leader.
