This position is for a Guest Services Host within the District's restaurant setting, aimed at delivering a superior dining experience through warm and efficient front-of-house operations. As a Guest Services Host, you will be the first point of contact for guests, responsible for greeting visitors, seating them comfortably, and presenting menus with a professional and friendly demeanor. The role demands excellent communication skills to handle dining reservations both over the phone and in person, ensuring accurate recording of reservation details. This role operates under general supervision and requires a service-oriented personality to anticipate guest needs proactively and exceed expectations with enthusiasm.
In addition to managing guest seating and reservations, the Guest Services Host must have a thorough understanding of the entire facility to guide guests towards other areas and activities available, enhancing their overall experience. Handling special seating requests, maintaining high standards of customer service, and collaborating effectively with internal team members are critical components of this role. The host also ensures compliance with Wheaton Park District's policies and procedures, exemplifies the District’s core values of integrity, fun, commitment, adaptability, growth, kindness, and service, and presents a professional image through adherence to dress code and grooming standards.
This position requires a valid Illinois Food Handler's Certificate and is suitable for candidates aged 16 years or older who possess strong verbal and written English communication skills. Physically, the job involves continuous movement and occasional lifting of light items such as menus. The work environment is typical of a bustling restaurant setting, with occasional noise and the presence of slippery surfaces. Hours range from 12 to 20 per week, including daytime, evening, weekend, and holiday shifts, accommodating a flexible schedule beneficial for students or individuals seeking part-time employment.
