Job Description

Hyatt is a globally recognized hospitality company known for its commitment to providing exceptional guest experiences through attentive and caring service. Established as a leader in the luxury and lifestyle hotel sector, Hyatt manages a diverse portfolio of properties around the world, and the brand continuously strives to create meaningful and memorable stays for every guest. One of Hyatt's unique attributes is its focus on the personal touch and attention to detail that its associates bring, which sets the company apart in the competitive hospitality market. Hyatt’s culture fosters growth and development, making it an attractive employer for individuals passionate about hospitality and customer service.

The role available is for a Restaurant Busser at Arriba Abajo, a new Cantina-themed bar and restaurant situated within two premiere lifestyle hotels in Downtown Austin—Thompson Austin and Tommie Austin. Scheduled to open in early Spring, Arriba Abajo will boast an impressive 17,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor dining and lounge space. The venue also includes multiple private event spaces and a pool deck service for hotel guests and residents, making it one of the most vibrant social and dining destinations in the area.

The Restaurant Busser plays a crucial role in assisting Food Servers by ensuring guests receive efficient and attentive service. This position requires excellent communication skills and the physical capability to lift, pull, and push moderate weights, as the job demands managing various tasks that support the smooth operation of dining services. Working in a fast-paced environment requires the Busser to be proactive and maintain constant interaction with customers, enhancing their dining experience through prompt and courteous assistance.

The Thompson and Tommie Austin hotels add to the compelling context of this opportunity. Thompson Austin offers 212 luxury guestrooms and suites along with 17 residences, a wellness center spanning 10,000 square feet, and multiple restaurant and bar concepts including the upcoming Arriba Abajo. The property includes an expansive pool deck, private cabanas, and over 10,000 square feet of flexible event space intended to cater to a variety of occasions. Tommie Austin, with 193 king rooms, is designed for adventurous guests seeking an inspiring and authentic local experience. Featuring a bespoke coffee and wine shop, it emphasizes guest autonomy along with warm, personalized service, blending art and local culture seamlessly.

Being part of this team means working in an environment that values both exceptional performance and the well-being of its associates. Hyatt provides a supportive atmosphere where career advancement and job enrichment are priorities. The Busser is not just a support role but a critical element in delivering The Hyatt Touch — the signature of the brand's hospitality that goes beyond typical service to create genuine connections and lasting memories.

The benefits package underlines Hyatt’s commitment to its employees, offering various health and welfare plans suitable for associates and their eligible dependents. Financial wellbeing is catered to with options for 401(k), College Savings, and Employee Stock Purchase Plans. Lifestyle benefits further enhance the role, including paid time off covering vacations, holidays, and sick leave, paid family bonding time, adoption assistance, discounted and complimentary rooms at Hyatt locations worldwide, free meals during shifts, and access to well-being and educational assistance programs. These comprehensive perks affirm Hyatt’s dedication to fostering a balanced and rewarding work environment for all team members.
