The Vault Custodian role is an essential position within the Loomis team, focused on maintaining the accuracy and security of cash inventories held in Loomis cash vaults. Individuals in this position work closely with their team to ensure that all deposits, currency, and coin shipments are accurately counted, recorded, and processed according to strict procedural guidelines. Vault Custodians verify identifying numbers or seals on bags of deposits and shipments, compare them with accompanying receipts or manifests, and meticulously count and record serial numbers and amounts. They are responsible for signing and dating all required documentation to maintain the integrity of the inventory process. Additionally, this role requires loading, unloading, and sorting cash shipments by route, as well as maintaining clear communication with co-workers and customers.

The Vault Custodian job demands significant physical activity such as lifting heavy items averaging 50 lbs multiple times during a shift, pushing loaded carts and buggies, and standing or walking for long periods, often on concrete floors. This physical aspect requires applicants to have excellent stamina and the ability to perform repetitive lifting and movement tasks. Candidates must be able to perform basic arithmetic functions to balance cash columns and maintain accurate records and reports by hand. The role also requires meeting state-specific firearms permit standards, underscoring the security-sensitive nature of the position.
