The role of an Armed Vault Custodian at Loomis is critical to maintaining the integrity and accuracy of cash vault operations. This full-time position involves collaborating with a team to ensure precise inventory management in the company’s cash vaults. The custodian is responsible for handling and verifying cash deposits and shipments, including counting, sorting, and recording currency, coins, and checks. As the custodian works behind the scenes in a secure vault environment, the role demands strong attention to detail, physical stamina, and the ability to follow strict security protocols, including possession or eligibility for a valid firearms permit. With work shifts typically covering late afternoon to closing hours, this position offers a competitive hourly wage of $20.90 and provides a stable work environment in an industry-leading company.

This role is suited for individuals who thrive in physically demanding jobs, including frequent lifting, loading, and unloading of bags and boxes weighing up to 50 pounds or more. It expects the ability to perform repetitive bending, stooping, and standing for extended periods, with work conducted primarily indoors within protected vault spaces. Successful candidates must meet state-specific firearms requirements and pass a Human Performance Evaluation to demonstrate their capacity to meet the job’s physical demands. Job Requirements

  • ability to lift and unload bags or boxes of currency, checks, and coin weighing an average of 50 lbs. per item several times during a 6 to 10 hour shift, 5 to 6 days a week
  • ability to push wagons, carts, buggies, dollies loaded with cargo weighing up to several hundred pounds
  • unrestricted ability to repetitiously bend, stoop, squat, stand, walk, climb, twist, turn, and reach out
  • ability to perform repetitious lifting of items weighing an average of 50 lbs. each from floor
  • ability to walk continuously between bins, vaults, booths, and counters
  • ability to stand on concrete floor approximately 80 percent of shift
  • ability to sign and record numbers by hand and to make entries on records and prepare reports
  • ability to count, add, subtract and balance columns of numbers
  • a valid firearms permit or ability to pass applicable firearms requirements per the state to which you are applying is required

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • check identifying numbers or seals on bags of deposits and/or change shipments against receipts or manifests
  • count items, record amounts and serial numbers, sign and date receipts and manifests
  • load and unload wagons or flatbed carts with bags or boxes of coin
  • sort individual cargo items by route
  • communicate verbally with co-workers and with customers via telephone
