The Armed Vault Custodian role is a critical position within Loomis's operations team, responsible for maintaining accurate inventory and ensuring the safety and security of cash vaults. This position requires a team-oriented individual who works closely with colleagues to manage deposits, change shipments, and other valuable cargo within Loomis's cash vaults. The role demands physical stamina, attention to detail, and strict adherence to security protocols to support seamless cash management for Loomis’s customers.

Armed Vault Custodians perform meticulous checks of identifying numbers and seals on bags and boxes of currency against official receipts or manifests. They are tasked with counting, recording amounts, and signing documents to maintain precise records. Physical tasks include loading and unloading wagons or flatbed carts and sorting individual cargo items by their designated routes. Effective verbal communication with co-workers and customers, both in person and via telephone, is also essential.

This full-time position typically involves 40 to 50 hours per week, distributed over 5 to 6 days, working primarily within controlled vault environments. The job requires consistent physical activity such as lifting, pushing, pulling, bending, and standing on concrete floors for sustained periods. Candidates must possess or be eligible to obtain a valid firearms permit or meet state-specific firearms requirements. Additionally, the selection process involves a Human Performance Evaluation that tests the candidate’s ability to perform lifting, carrying, pushing, and repetitive hand tasks essential to the role.
