The Armed Security Officer role at Allied Universal is a critical position focused on maintaining the safety and security of assigned facilities. This position involves acting as a visible deterrent against criminal activities and ensuring compliance with client rules and regulations. Armed Security Officers are responsible for monitoring their posts, detecting and reporting suspicious or dangerous activities, and responding promptly to emergencies or security alarms. Through these efforts, Armed Security Officers help uphold the company's core mission: to service, secure, and care for people and businesses within the community.
This specific position is a part-time flex role offering a pay rate of $15 per hour. The job requires candidates to have at least four years of military or law enforcement experience, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to work all shifts and days of the week. Armed Security Officers maintain proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment and weapons and are expected to conduct patrols on foot, bicycle, or vehicle for comprehensive security coverage.
The role also includes responsibilities such as greeting and assisting guests and employees, securing access points, safeguarding classified information, and following site-specific procedures and post orders. Officers act as first responders during emergencies, providing first aid when necessary. Job Requirements
- Valid driver's license
- Four or more years of military or law enforcement experience
- Ability to work all shifts and all days of the week
- Minimum 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Licenses as required by state and local laws
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent, or 5 years of verifiable experience
- Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment
- Minimum of three (3) years of law enforcement, military, or private armed security experience
- Minimum of 21 years of age (or higher if required by the state)
- Excellent communication skills
- able to articulate and write clear and concise incident or situation reports
- Able to complete all range qualifications and functions
- Associate's degree or higher in criminal justice, business, or a related field (preferred)
Job Duties
- Provide high quality security services, safeguarding personnel, property, and information
- Conduct patrols within and around the facility on foot, bicycle, or vehicle to ensure the protection of people, assets, and sensitive or classified information
- Preserve order and enforces rules, regulations, and directives for the viability of the site
- Maintains proficiency in the use of all assigned protective equipment, restraint devices and weapons
- Greet guests and employees, assisting where appropriate
- escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points, secure classified information
- Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders, reporting safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances via written and verbal communication
- Respond to and assesses security alarms or emergency alarms
- act as a first responder in emergency situations and provide first aid as necessary
