Ross Stores, Inc. is a leading off-price retail chain with over 2,200 stores nationwide, offering customers a treasure hunt experience filled with high-quality brands and on-trend merchandise at extraordinary savings. With corporate headquarters in Dublin, California, and key buying offices in New York City, Los Angeles, and Boston, Ross Stores serves a vast and diverse customer base. As a Fortune 500 company, Ross reported revenues of $22.8 billion in 2025, reflecting its commitment to growth and excellence. The company prides itself on fostering an inclusive work environment, continuous learning opportunities, and career development for its associates. Ross values people who bring their unique talents and perspectives to a dynamic and fun retail setting where teamwork, success, and community engagement are top priorities.

The Area Supervisor role at Ross is a vital member of the Store Leadership team, responsible for overseeing a specific assigned area within the store and stepping in as Manager on Duty to supervise general operations. This position plays a key role in maintaining a friendly, accessible shopping environment while managing store safety, merchandise presentation, and associate supervision. Area Supervisors carry the responsibility for opening and closing the store, executing company operational processes, and promoting a safe and secure environment for customers and employees alike. Ideal candidates for the Area Supervisor position have prior experience in customer service and supervisory roles and demonstrate excellent verbal communication skills. They are detail-oriented and have the ability to work evenings and weekends as retail business needs dictate. Proficiency with point-of-sale systems, basic mathematics for retail calculations, and a strong commitment to safety and loss prevention are essential. The role requires physical capabilities including standing or walking for extended periods and occasional lifting and moving of items exceeding 20 pounds when necessary.

As part of the Ross team, Area Supervisors contribute to the company's ongoing success by supporting the brand's standards and values, engaging with customers and associates in a respectful and professional manner, and exemplifying the company's commitment to diversity, equality, and inclusion. Ross fosters a work culture that emphasizes collaboration, integrity, accountability, and development. These supervisors are not only leaders in their assigned store areas but also mentors who build talent and communicate effectively to drive business results. Through their efforts, they ensure that every customer experiences a positive and enjoyable shopping environment that encourages repeat visits and loyalty.

Ross offers a rewarding career path for individuals passionate about retail management, providing the opportunity to grow within a supportive environment in a thriving, industry-leading company. With competitive salaries, benefits, and the stability of a Fortune 500 enterprise, this role is ideal for those who want to combine their leadership skills with a vibrant retail atmosphere focused on continual growth and community impact.
