The Area Supervisor role at Ross is an integral part of the Store Leadership team, tasked with overseeing the operational activities and supervision of a specific store area. This position entails acting as the Manager on Duty, ensuring smooth store functions throughout opening and closing hours. Area Supervisors play a pivotal role in maintaining a safe, secure, and pleasant shopping environment by upholding high safety standards and providing excellent customer service. They are responsible for enforcing company policies, managing associate performance, merchandise presentation, cleanliness, and general store organization. Job Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • ability to stand and walk for extended periods
  • capability to lift, push, and pull up to 25 lbs
  • proficient use of store equipment including registers and handheld devices
  • availability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
  • prior retail supervisory experience preferred
  • strong organizational and leadership skills

Job Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal communication skills
  • fluency in English
  • prior customer service and supervisory experience preferred
  • familiarity with point-of-sale equipment and applications
  • ability to perform basic mathematical calculations commonly used in retail environments
  • ability to work evenings and weekends
