Job Description
Merete is a nationally recognized hotel management company known for its award-winning culture and commitment to operational excellence and innovation. With a keen focus on strategic thinking and data-driven leadership, Merete has established itself as a leader in the hospitality industry. The company thrives in creating a collaborative and empowering environment that promotes growth, excellence, enjoyment, and community among its associates. Merete is dedicated to investing in employee development and celebrating progress while maintaining high standards through leading by example. This approach ensures that the team is motivated and equipped to deliver exceptional service and drive outstanding business results.
As an Area Sales Manager at Merete, you will play a crucial role in achieving hotel revenue targets within assigned market segments, primarily located in Washington and Oregon. This role emphasizes a balance of strategic sales, customer service, and relationship building with hotel leadership and local communities. Primarily working from home, this position requires significant local travel for client meetings, hotel visits, and conducting on-property tours and site inspections. The Area Sales Manager is responsible for leveraging franchise tools, utilizing strong negotiating skills, and creatively maximizing revenue streams while fostering long-term customer loyalty.
The ideal candidate will be a seasoned hotel sales professional with a minimum of two years of experience within major brands such as Marriott, Hilton, or IHG. This is not an entry-level position but rather one that demands excellent communication skills, fluency in English, a valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, and the ability to professionally represent both Merete and its hotels. You will be expected to meet and exceed sales activity and revenue goals consistently, showcase effective time management, and engage in proactive selling efforts including networking, prospecting, and direct sales calls.
Merete stands firmly on its core values that guide the company culture: growth, high standards, fun, and community. These principles are not just internal goals but directly influence how the company interacts with clients, guests, and its associates. You will enjoy working in an environment that nurtures career advancement, offers competitive compensation, flexible scheduling, and comprehensive health benefits including medical, dental, and vision coverage. Additionally, Merete offers paid time off and exclusive travel discounts for team members, ensuring a well-rounded work-life balance.
At Merete, diversity, equity, and inclusion are deeply embedded within the company ethos. The company champions a supportive and welcoming workplace where all associates, regardless of background or identity, feel recognized and valued. Equal opportunity is a cornerstone of Merete’s employment policies, affirming that every qualified applicant receives consideration without discrimination. This commitment fosters a workplace that reflects the diverse community Merete serves and contributes to its continuous success.
Overall, the Area Sales Manager position at Merete offers a unique opportunity to join a progressive and respected hospitality company. You will be an integral part of a team dedicated to excellence and innovation, where your efforts directly impact both individual and organizational achievements. If you are a motivated sales professional passionate about the hospitality industry and eager to contribute within a vibrant, supportive company culture, Merete invites you to take the next step in your career with them.
