Job Description
Auro Hotels is a reputable hospitality company managing three distinguished hotel properties including Courtyard by Marriott Waterfront, Residence Inn by Marriott Riverview, and Springhill Suites by Marriott Riverview. Known for their dedication to excellent guest experiences and premium service standards, Auro Hotels operates under the Marriott brand umbrella, incorporating industry-leading practices and a commitment to quality. The company provides a supportive work environment enriched with comprehensive employee benefits such as health, vision, dental insurance, paid time off, 401k plans, employee discounts, and much more, illustrating their commitment to employee well-being and career growth.
The Area Sales and Catering Coordinator role at Auro Hotels is a pivotal position designed to drive increased room revenue by boosting the production from existing special corporate, travel agent, consortia accounts, and group sales. This role collaborates closely with Sales Managers across the three Marriott-branded properties to develop and execute strategic sales initiatives that target both transient and group business markets. The coordinator will be responsible for fostering strong relationships with key lead sources including third-party vendors, local Convention and Visitors Bureaus (CVB), and internal sales teams to maximize revenue opportunities.
The position entails conducting engaging site visits and hotel tours for prospective and existing clients, attending client and third-party events to secure business leads, and employing creative tactics to attract and retain clientele. A self-motivated and entrepreneurial mindset is crucial, as the Area Sales and Catering Coordinator must proactively research market trends and find innovative ways to capture untapped markets, particularly in corporate sales and the travel agency wholesale segment.
Additional responsibilities include preparing customized proposals tailored to group programs, conducting outside sales calls and telephone solicitations, and maintaining meticulous records of all corporate and group accounts. The coordinator must possess the ability to articulate ideas clearly and professionally to ensure effective communication internally and externally while managing multiple priorities under pressure. This role requires a professional demeanor and confidence to represent the hotels effectively at various local, hotel, and special events, contributing to the overall marketing and sales strategy.
The ideal candidate will have a college degree or equivalent experience, with Marriott brand experience seen as a significant asset. The role offers a vibrant work culture with commitment to career advancement and continuous learning, supported by top-notch employee benefits, including health and dental insurance, vision coverage, paid time off, 401k, and generous employee discounts. Auro Hotels takes pride in being an Equal Employment Opportunity employer, enforcing background and substance abuse screenings to ensure a safe and professional workplace. This role offers a unique opportunity to grow within a respected hospitality group, contribute significantly to revenue goals, and develop a rewarding career in sales and catering coordination within the dynamic Marriott brand hospitality sector.
