The position of Area Sales Manager within Nalco Water’s Primary Metals Business is an exciting opportunity for a driven sales professional. This role focuses on revenue and profit growth within targeted accounts through the deployment of system assurance programs tailored to meet key business requirements. The Area Sales Manager will act as a consultative partner, working closely with existing customers to understand their unique challenges and deliver value-added solutions. This role involves leveraging strong account leadership to convert strategic competitive accounts, expand current customer relationships, and introduce cutting-edge water treatment technologies. Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial)
- 5 years experience leading and developing teams
- 5 years of successful technical sales or outside sales experience utilizing a consultative sales approach
- Ability to travel as required to support the district
- Position requires a current and valid driver's license
- Candidate must reside within a commutable distance from Cleveland, OH
- No immigration sponsorship is available
- Physical ability to perform job functions with or without accommodation
- Drive a company vehicle with eligibility confirmed by motor vehicle record checks
Job Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, Industrial)
- 5 years experience leading and developing teams
- 5 years of successful technical or outside sales experience using consultative sales approach
- Ability to travel as required
- Current and valid driver's license
- Steel industry technical expertise preferred
- MBA preferred
- 10 years of successful technical or outside sales experience including multi-level management and executive relationship development
- Extensive knowledge of boilers, cooling towers, and water treatment systems
Job Duties
- Drive profit growth to meet district profit increase goals by developing and executing a district plan to maximize revenue
- Regularly interact across functional areas with senior management or executives to ensure objectives are met
- Generate sales forecasts and accurately predict revenue on a monthly basis
- Participate in strategic and tactical planning for the district by leveraging, allocating, and maximizing ROI for all tools and resources
- Construct business plans incorporating market drivers and analytics, while monitoring and adjusting plan according to business conditions
- Demonstrate strong leadership by championing corporate initiatives and leading District Meetings
- Provide continuous coaching and development of sales engineers and technical service representatives to maintain value in the heavy industrial segment
- Ensure all new hires achieve training standards leading to product and service expertise
- Take quick action to address performance deficiencies and maintain documentation
- Support team and internal partners in identifying trends, understanding market conditions, and sharing expertise
- Reinforce a clear vision for the team aligned with strategic objectives
- Work closely with large, strategic, current and prospective customers to understand business needs
