This position is based in Santa Fe, New Mexico, and offers an exciting opportunity for motivated individuals interested in sales and customer service within the beverage industry. The role involves selling a diverse range of beverage products, including beer, soft drinks, sports drinks, tea, and water to an extensive assortment of customers such as retail food stores, wholesale grocers, restaurants, hotels, and other businesses. The individual holding this role will be entrusted with maintaining and growing the company’s market presence by traveling within an assigned territory to engage with existing and potential customers. Beyond sales, the role requires hands-on involvement in product merchandising, managing inventory, and ensuring compliance with supplier and company standards. This ensures that products are rotated appropriately, displays are attractive and well-maintained, and stocks are replenished efficiently to avoid out-of-stock situations.

The role demands a proactive sales approach where the representative will conduct business reviews, demonstrate product benefits, and use effective marketing strategies including samples and promotional materials to secure and grow business accounts. Maintaining excellent customer rapport through professional and efficient service is essential, and the representative is expected to wear the company uniform and safety equipment, adhering to the company’s professional and safety standards.

Additionally, the position involves operational duties such as safe vehicle operation and maintenance, accurate financial transactions including cash and credit proceeds, and efficient handling of company assets like inventory and promotional displays. The individual will also participate in the creation and implementation of innovative product displays, coordinate product deliveries and returns, and prepare detailed reports related to business activities and expenses.

For individuals who are interested in leadership responsibilities, this role also includes supervisory duties involving managing 2 to 4 employees. This includes hiring, training, directing, and evaluating subordinate staff to ensure that all company policies and legal requirements are met effectively. Job Requirements

  • Valid driver’s license with a safe driving record
  • Ability to lift and move beverages and merchandise as required

Job Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven sales experience in beverage or retail industry preferred
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to operate a vehicle safely and maintain cleanliness
  • Basic knowledge of inventory management and merchandising
  • Competency in cash handling and accurate record keeping
  • Ability to work independently and in a team environment
  • Supervisory experience is a plus
  • Proficient in preparing sales contracts and business reports
  • Physically capable of handling product transfers and transport
  • Professional appearance and customer service orientation
  • Ability to follow company policies and procedures
  • Experience with POS materials and display construction.

Job Duties

  • Travels through assigned territory to call on regular and prospective customers to solicit orders and new business
  • Prepares sales contracts and interfaces with customers on location or by phone
  • Operates route vehicle safely and maintains vehicle cleanliness
  • Ensures all Admiral Beverage brands and packages are rotated on a first-in, first-out basis
  • Establishes good customer rapport through professional selling approaches
  • Properly accounts for cash, credit proceeds, products removed from inventories, lighted signs, and other company assets
  • Solicits new business by conducting business reviews, demonstrating products and services, using samples and marketing resources
  • Arranges products according to plan or management approval
  • Places price and descriptive signs on backdrops, fixtures, merchandise, or floors
  • Transfers product from customer stock room to floor displays to comply with sell-by dates
  • Orders product for assigned accounts to avoid out of stock conditions
  • Originates display ideas or follows sales manager suggestions
  • Constructs or assembles display aids from point of sale materials
  • Estimates and coordinates date of product delivery and empty shell pickups
  • Prepares reports of business transactions and keeps expense accounts
  • Wears and utilizes company safety equipment and uniform
  • Supervise 2 to 4 subordinate employees including hiring, training, assigning work, appraising performance, and addressing complaints
  • Performs other duties as assigned by supervisors.
