The Area Manager position at The Parking Spot is a full-time role responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of multiple parking facilities within a designated region. This role plays a critical part in maintaining the company’s standards for hospitality, operational efficiency, and customer satisfaction. The Area Manager will supervise General Managers and support staff, ensure the physical condition of facilities and fleets, manage budgets, and handle compliance with various federal and state regulations. This position offers a competitive salary range of $100,000 to $115,000 per year and provides opportunities for career advancement within the company’s extensive network. The weekly schedule is Monday to Friday during the day, supporting a consistent and manageable work-life balance.

As an Area Manager, the successful candidate will be instrumental in driving operational excellence by ensuring that all locations under their supervision meet the company’s high standards. Responsibilities include managing employee performance and training, conducting audits and inspections, handling customer service issues, and maintaining regulatory compliance, particularly regarding commercial vehicle operations. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years in management with direct supervisory responsibilities
  • Valid driver’s license and CDL if required
  • Ability to work Monday through Friday daytime schedule
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and follow directions promptly
  • Ability to pass a physical examination and certified Interstate driver requirements
  • Willingness to comply with all safety and regulatory standards

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years in a management position with direct supervisory experience
  • Ability to work a varied and flexible schedule
  • Ability to prioritize work and promptly follow directions
  • Excellent English communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills
  • Strong analytical skills to gather and summarize data for reports
  • Currently holds, or is able to obtain, all applicable licenses or badges as required by governing authorities to operate a commercial vehicle, including a valid driver’s license, and CDL where required
  • Must be willing to take a physical and pass as a certified Interstate driver as part of the selection process as required by airport, federal DOT and/or state regulations

Job Duties

  • Oversees the physical condition and appearance for the facility and fleet for 2-3 properties assigned
  • Supervises the activities of the General Managers and support staff at the lots assigned for oversight
  • Monitors the performance of employees to ensure prompt attendance and completion of duties
  • Interviews, hires, and trains employees to perform their specific responsibilities
  • Conducts local audits and inspections
  • Ensures consistent delivery of The Parking Spot’s hospitality standards
  • Successfully handles any and all customer service issues that may arise
  • Enforces all company policies and procedures as set forth in the Employee Handbook
  • Manages and maintains DOT compliance of shuttles including all employee certification, operational improvements, maintenance and repairs
  • Maintains accountability for overall profit/loss for managed properties
  • Monitors and controls expenses at the properties
  • Prepares annual market budget
  • Communicates relevant information to Regional Vice President and Corporate personnel as appropriate
  • Complies with all applicable Federal, State, and Local regulations and requirements governing operation of commercial vehicles
  • Adheres and enforces a safety environment and facility for our employees and guests
  • Performs additional duties as reasonably requested by Management
