Job Description
Valet Living is a leading company specializing in providing essential waste, recycling, and compost collection services primarily focused on multifamily communities. With a commitment to service excellence and operational efficiency, Valet Living is dedicated to creating opportunities for growth while cultivating a culture that values leadership, accountability, and continuous improvement. Recognized for its innovative approach and supportive work environment, Valet Living prides itself on not just delivering vital services but also on building careers and fostering professional development among its employees. This dynamic company operates with a focus on sustainability and community well-being, ensuring that their nightly collection services run safely, smoothly, and on time, reflecting their dedication to both clients and team members.
The role of Area Leader at Valet Living is a field-based supervisory position with a key responsibility to oversee nightly waste, recycling, and compost collection services across 20 to 40 multifamily communities. As an Area Leader, you will manage a team of 15 to 40 part-time Service Valets, ensuring the consistency and reliability of services. This role requires a hands-on leader who thrives in a dynamic environment, capable of leading teams, solving problems proactively, and using data-driven insights to make informed operational decisions. The position offers an hourly wage ranging from $22 to $24 and includes a company vehicle to facilitate fieldwork. The work schedule is Sunday through Thursday from 6:00 PM to 12:30 AM core hours, with an additional two flexible hours to complete an 8-hour shift, allowing for some adaptability based on business needs. The work environment consists of 70% field-based activities and 30% remote administrative tasks, offering a balanced mix of onsite engagement and back-office support.
In your leadership role, onboarding and training your team members to provide high-quality collection services is essential, as is fostering a culture of accountability and open communication. You will conduct regular team meetings and safety checks to uphold best practices and service standards. Managing schedules, approving timecards, and maintaining budgetary compliance will be critical components of your responsibilities. Operational oversight involves stepping in to ensure uninterrupted service, reviewing property service quality through onsite audits, and leveraging technology tools like the iValet dashboard to monitor performance. Responding quickly and professionally to resident or property concerns is also key to maintaining client satisfaction.
Additionally, you will support daily administrative tasks such as assisting with hiring, distributing supplies, working with management to monitor staffing and costs, and overseeing vehicle maintenance and fleet safety. This multifaceted role demands strong organizational skills, technical proficiency with software platforms, and excellent communication abilities. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, adaptable, and driven by data to continually improve service reliability and operational efficiencies.
Valet Living offers comprehensive benefits that include medical, dental, and vision coverage for employees and their families, robust financial security options including a 401k with company match, life and disability insurance, and paid time off with holidays and volunteer days. They also invest in professional development through tuition reimbursement and access to an online education center, supplemented by additional perks like referral bonuses, pet insurance, associate assistance programs, and free virtual fitness programs. This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated professional seeking to grow their supervisory career within a forward-thinking company dedicated to service excellence and employee well-being.
