The position available is for an Area Leader, a field-based supervisory role at Valet Living. This role involves managing nightly operations of waste, recycling, and compost collection services across 20 to 40 multifamily community properties. The Area Leader will directly manage a team of 15 to 40 part-time Service Valets, ensuring that all services run smoothly, safely, and on schedule. The role is both operational and administrative, with a work schedule primarily from Sunday to Thursday evenings, including core hours and two flexible hours to complete an 8-hour shift. This hybrid role requires spending about 70% of the time in the field and 30% remotely managing administrative tasks.

The Area Leader will be responsible for leading the team by onboarding and training new Service Valets, conducting safety checks, and reinforcing service standards through regular communication and coaching. They will also manage schedules, approve timecards, and maintain service reliability by stepping in to resolve issues as they arise. Monitoring performance through technology tools and maintaining high service quality by visiting properties regularly are integral components of this role.

Additionally, the Area Leader supports daily administrative duties such as assisting with hiring processes, distributing supplies and equipment, monitoring staffing levels and costs with the Operations Manager, supporting special projects or service recovery initiatives, and overseeing the maintenance and safety of the company fleet vehicles. The role demands strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills as well as a hands-on approach to leadership.

Candidates must hold a high school diploma or GED, possess a valid driver’s license with the ability to operate a company vehicle, and meet physical requirements that include lifting up to 50 pounds, walking long distances, and working outdoors in varying weather conditions. The role requires tolerance for disagreeable odors common to waste management environments.
