The role of Area General Manager at SodexoMagic presents a unique leadership opportunity at Miami International Airport (MIA), where the successful candidate will manage an exclusive airline lounge portfolio. This position plays a critical part in overseeing the daily operations of multiple premium airport lounges, which feature upscale amenities such as elegant buffets, bar services, and other luxury offerings designed to enhance the passenger experience.
Reporting directly to the District Manager, the Area General Manager will assume full responsibility for the operational excellence of these lounges. This includes managing staffing, financials, inventory control, and guest services to ensure seamless and memorable experiences for travelers. The role demands a strategic mindset to build and maintain long-term client partnerships with airport authorities and airline representatives, acting as the primary liaison to meet and exceed expectations.
The Area General Manager will develop and implement forward-thinking strategies that drive profitability, control costs, and ensure compliance with safety and airport regulations. Leadership is pivotal, with responsibilities extending to cultivating an inclusive team culture by mentoring and training both salaried managers and frontline associates. Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- Minimum 5 years of management experience in high-volume luxury food and beverage operations
- Minimum 5 years of experience in senior-level food and beverage roles including cruise ships luxury or boutique hotels or premium airport lounges
- Proven ability to provide the highest levels of guest service satisfaction
- Bilingual in Spanish
- Strong focus on profit and loss management cost controls budgets and inventories
- Ability to optimize current business portfolio through solutions
- Ability to lead and direct large teams in multi-lounge operations
- Strong executive presence and communication skills
- Availability to work flexible schedules based on business needs
Job Qualifications

- Minimum 5 years of functional experience in senior-level food and beverage operations
- Proven track record providing the highest levels of guest service satisfaction

Job Duties
- Lead and manage all aspects of lounge operations at MIA including overseeing staffing financial management inventory and guest services to ensure seamless high-quality lounge experiences
- Build and maintain strong long-term client relationships serving as the main point of contact for airport and airline partners
- Implement strategies to drive profitability achieve financial goals and manage costs effectively
- Develop and execute plans to enhance operational performance including safety cleanliness and customer satisfaction
