The Area General Manager role at Weyerhaeuser is a critical leadership position focused on directing the people, profit, and performance of the company’s growing business across Arizona, Southwest Las Vegas, and New Mexico, centered around the Phoenix Distribution Center. This position requires an individual capable of maintaining a strong onsite presence while also traveling up to 35 percent, involving both day and overnight trips. The AGM will play a pivotal role in implementing internal company programs and is entrusted with developing and executing a comprehensive 5-year business plan known as the Roadmap.

The role demands hands-on leadership and general management duties overseeing inside and outside area sales teams and operations personnel. The AGM will work closely with the site operations manager and finance partner to ensure smooth collaboration across departments such as logistics, fulfillment, production planning, scheduling, and asset management to bolster market profitability. The Area General Manager is expected to inspire and energize sales and operations teams to drive growth and achieve performance goals by fostering a culture of commitment to company standards.

Maintaining and expanding key relationships with strategic customers as well as internal and external vendors forms an essential part of the role. The AGM is accountable for the overall functioning of the Phoenix Distribution Center, including critical areas such as safety, sales effectiveness, logistics operations, and community engagement through volunteer activities. The position offers a targeted salary range of $144,000 to $217,000 depending on experience, skills, and qualifications, and eligibility for an annual incentive program and long-term incentive grants. Job Requirements

  • Minimum high school diploma or GED
  • More than 10 years of related industry experience such as distribution, manufacturing, or wholesale
  • Over 5 years in a people management role
  • Ability to travel up to 35 percent including day and overnight travel
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making capabilities
  • Commitment to safety and compliance standards
