We are currently seeking an experienced and dynamic Area General Manager - Healthcare to lead food service operations across three major hospitals in the Greater Boston area: Cambridge Hospital, Somerville Hospital, and Everett Hospital. This role is pivotal in overseeing patient dining, retail food service, and catering operations, ensuring the delivery of exceptional experiences and high-quality service. The Area General Manager will be responsible for managing and mentoring salaried managers and their teams, driving operational excellence and maintaining compliance with Sodexo’s quality and safety standards.

This position requires a hands-on, high-energy leader comfortable working onsite daily to actively engage with teams and hospital leadership. The successful candidate will demonstrate strong financial acumen, with a proven track record in managing profit and loss (P&L) and fee-based environments. They will collaborate closely with hospital leaders and other stakeholders to align service delivery with organizational goals while fostering a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement. Job Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience
  • Minimum 5 years of functional experience in foodservice management
  • Experience in healthcare foodservice management
  • Strong financial management skills
  • Ability to lead large teams in complex, multi-unit environments
  • Comfortable working onsite daily in a high-pressure environment

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 5 years of management experience
  • Minimum 5 years of functional experience in foodservice management
  • Experience in senior-level foodservice management, specifically in healthcare
  • Strong financial acumen with a track record of success in P&L or fee-based settings
  • High energy, hands-on leadership style
  • Familiarity with Sodexo systems is a plus
