The role of District Executive Chef within Sodexo's Campus Segment offers a unique opportunity to lead culinary operations across six schools in the Boston metropolitan area. This position, also known as Area Executive Chef, demands a hands-on leader who will oversee culinary services in various settings including resident dining, retail outlets, concessions, and catering programs. The District Executive Chef is responsible for driving menu innovation, aligning with current campus dining trends to elevate the student experience. This role requires a deep understanding of diverse cuisines as well as expertise in high-volume food production. The leader in this position will be tasked with mentoring and developing culinary teams to consistently deliver excellence while maintaining Sodexo's culinary and safety standards.

Operational and financial responsibility is a critical aspect of the District Executive Chef's role. The position involves close management of purchasing, inventory, food cost control, and production forecasting. Leveraging automated food management systems, the leader will ensure the efficiency and quality of food services are upheld. The District Executive Chef is expected to collaborate effectively with unit leaders, contributing to both culinary excellence and the financial success of the campuses served. Job Requirements

  • Culinary degree or equivalent professional experience
  • Minimum 3 years of management experience
  • Minimum 3 years of functional experience in culinary operations
  • Strong knowledge of diverse cuisines and menu development
  • Proven ability to control food costs and maintain quality
  • Hands-on leadership and team development skills
  • Knowledge of food safety, sanitation, and HACCP standards
  • Experience with automated food inventory and production systems
  • Ability to drive innovation in campus dining

Job Qualifications

Job Duties

  • Lead and support culinary operations across multiple university campuses

  • Support menu development, recipe rollouts, and culinary standards across all units

  • Oversee purchasing, inventory management, food cost analysis, and production forecasting
  • Ensure Sodexo's culinary standards, recipe compliance, and quality expectations are met
  • Utilize food management systems for ordering, inventory, production, and operational oversight
  • Collaborate with unit leaders to drive excellence and support financial performance
