Job Description
PAH Management is a Dallas-based hotel ownership and management company with a robust portfolio of select-service properties operated under the well-known Marriott and Hilton brands. The company is recognized for its commitment to developing a culture that places associates first while aiming to become America’s preferred hotel management company. With properties across multiple states, PAH Management focuses on delivering excellence in hospitality, operational efficiency, and strong market presence, ensuring satisfied guests and profitable business growth. The company emphasizes diversity and equal opportunity, maintaining a workplace where all qualified applicants are considered without regard to race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, veteran status, or any other legally protected characteristic.
The Area Director of Sales role at PAH Management is a pivotal leadership position responsible for driving strategic and tactical sales initiatives across an assigned portfolio of hotels within the Louisiana market. Reporting to the Regional Director of Sales and Revenue, this full-time, exempt position demands extensive travel throughout Louisiana, approximately 40 to 60 percent, including overnight trips. Candidates must reside in Louisiana, within reasonable proximity to the assigned hotels, ensuring effective regional presence and client engagement.
In this role, the Area Director of Sales leads property-level sales efforts with the objective of growing room revenue, enhancing occupancy, and increasing overall profitability. This leadership role requires collaboration with hotel and corporate leadership to meet ambitious revenue and market-share targets. The director’s scope encompasses driving transient business production, group sales, extended-stay demand, and negotiated account penetration. The role also involves strengthening accountability for sales outcomes, nurturing client relationships, and maintaining active sales pipelines through innovative sales tactics.
Key responsibilities include conducting structured weekly sales calls and property visits to evaluate sales performance, monitor booking pace, and analyze competitive market conditions. The director leverages industry tools such as STR reports, Kalibri Labs data, and brand sales systems to make data-driven decisions and capitalize on opportunities. Proactive sales activity is a critical component, encompassing prospecting new clients, coordinating site visits, organizing sales blitzes, and networking within local communities and industry associations.
Additionally, the director supports the execution of brand sales initiatives, including business transient pricing, RFP responses, and contract renewals for Marriott and Hilton properties. Partnering closely with General Managers, Revenue Management, Operations, and brand representatives, the Area Director ensures alignment of pricing strategies, service delivery standards, and revenue management techniques. The role also includes supervising property Sales Managers and other sales team members, emphasizing coaching, performance management, and development to build a strong, accountable sales force.
Performance metrics for this position focus on achieving or exceeding portfolio revenue goals, RevPAR, ADR, occupancy rates, and overall market share improvements. The director fosters consistent proactive selling, pipeline growth, and sales record accuracy, while driving performance improvements in underperforming properties and segments. Organizational and analytical capabilities are essential to manage multiple properties, priorities, and deadlines effectively in a fast-paced environment.
PAH Management values leadership competencies such as strategic thinking, accountability, coaching, analytical decision-making, proactive selling, collaboration, and strong communication skills. The role’s physical requirements include the ability to travel frequently, work flexible schedules, and perform site visits involving assessment of hotel facilities and operations.
Compensation for the Area Director of Sales is competitive and commensurate with experience. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision insurance, disability coverage, retirement plans, life insurance, employee incentive programs, hotel stay perks, educational reimbursement, paid time off, and development programs. This is an excellent opportunity for a seasoned sales leader looking to impact multiple properties within a dynamic hospitality management company.
