Job Description
Remington Hospitality is a well-established U.S.-based third-party hotel management company with a longstanding presence since 1968. The company operates more than 100 hotels in 30 states as well as in the Caribbean and Latin America regions, managing a diverse portfolio that includes 26 brands. Renowned for fostering operational accountability and brand compliance, Remington Hospitality emphasizes financial discipline and promotes a collaborative, performance-driven culture focused on long-term success and professional growth. The company's commitment to excellence is reflected not only in its operational standards but also in its people-first environment, fostering innovation and career development throughout its workforce.
The Area Director of Sales position is a high-profile, managerial role based onsite at the DoubleTree by Hilton Phoenix Midtown, serving a dual-hotel portfolio that includes the full-service DoubleTree by Hilton Phoenix Midtown and the select-service Hampton Inn & Suites Phoenix Airport North. With over 260 combined keys, these two properties represent prominent players within the Phoenix hospitality market, each catering to distinct segments. The DoubleTree by Hilton Phoenix Midtown features 156 upscale rooms and ample meeting and event space totaling approximately 7,000 square feet. This property serves a mix of corporate, group, and leisure guests, benefiting from its strategic location near downtown Phoenix's business district, medical centers, and cultural venues. Meanwhile, Hampton Inn & Suites Phoenix Airport North is designed to meet the needs of transient and airport-driven travelers. Located just minutes from Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport, it offers 106 rooms, complimentary breakfast, a convenient airport shuttle, and limited meeting space to support short-stay and corporate guests.
The Area Director of Sales will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing sales and revenue strategies across this portfolio. Reporting directly to the Area General Manager, the Director of Sales oversees two sales coordinators and is responsible for driving group, corporate, and transient business revenue across both properties. The position demands a hands-on leader who can work closely with property leadership teams to align operational goals with sales initiatives, leveraging the DoubleTree's expansive meeting facilities while optimizing the Hampton Inn's strong airport market. This role involves significant client engagement, local market leadership, and partnership development to capitalize on Phoenix's dynamic business landscape, hospital systems, local organizations, and event-driven market opportunities.
Key responsibilities include leading local market sales efforts, developing integrated cross-property sales strategies, managing group and meeting sales particularly focused on the DoubleTree's capabilities, and ensuring brand compliance and marketing execution tailored to the Phoenix market. The role requires a proactive, data-driven approach to maximize revenue through pricing strategies, demand forecasting in partnership with Revenue Management, and a deep understanding of both full-service and select-service hotel operations. It also encompasses coaching and developing the sales team to build a high-performing, accountable sales culture that drives consistent results.
This full-time, permanent managerial position offers a competitive salary range of $85,000 to $95,000 annually, with the potential for quarterly bonuses up to 50 percent based on earned wages. Minimal local travel is expected, primarily for client meetings, community involvement, and market outreach. This position is ideal for an experienced sales leader with strong ties to the Phoenix market, exceptional communication and negotiation skills, and the ability to strategically manage a multi-property portfolio in a vibrant and growing hospitality environment.
