Our hotel, LaQuinta Inn and Suites and Echo, is currently looking for an Area Director of Sales to join our leadership team, offering a full-time exempt position with a competitive salary and a bonus structure. This role is central to steering the hotel's sales and marketing initiatives across multiple revenue centers, including room bookings, catering, corporate groups, and special events. As Area Director of Sales, you will lead a talented sales team comprising managers, coordinators, and catering staff, supervising their efforts to maximize revenue growth and market presence. The role requires a strategic thinker who can craft and execute comprehensive marketing and sales plans, develop strong long-term client relationships, and proactively seek new business opportunities. Your responsibilities will include driving sales through prospecting calls, outside appointment calls, hotel tours, and maintaining client relations through both in-person and virtual interactions across various market segments. Successfully representing the hotel in the community and participating in industry networking events is also a critical aspect of this position. Job Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in hotel sales and marketing
  • Proven leadership skills to manage and motivate a sales team
  • Excellent negotiation and client management abilities
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience
  • Competency in sales software systems such as Delphi
  • Availability to work non-traditional hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Strong understanding of the local market dynamics
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Job Qualifications

  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in hotel sales and marketing
  • Proven ability to lead and inspire a high-performing team
  • Strong negotiation, sales, and client relations skills
  • Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent relevant experience
  • Working knowledge of sales systems with Delphi experience a plus

  • Familiarity with the local market and a proactive, guest-first mindset
  • Experience with kosher catering and multicultural events is a plus

Job Duties

  • Lead all hotel sales and marketing initiatives, driving revenue across room and catering departments
  • Supervise and motivate the sales team including managers, coordinators, and catering staff
  • Develop and execute a strategic marketing plan and sales action plan
  • Cultivate new accounts and maintain strong relationships across corporate, government, SMERF, leisure, and association markets
  • Conduct engaging site tours for prospective clients showcasing the property's best features
  • Represent the hotel in the community and participate in industry organizations
  • Oversee promotional campaigns and customer communication efforts
  • Ensure exceptional guest satisfaction that drives repeat business
