The Area Director of Revenue Management role is a critical leadership position within this hospitality company, responsible for overseeing revenue management functions across multiple resort properties. This position focuses on implementing resort revenue management objectives which encompass maximizing revenues and profits through precise rate and inventory management across all market segments within each hotel overseen. The Area Director is actively involved in setting pricing strategies and managing the distribution of inventory via various channels to optimize revenue streams effectively. This role demands a deep understanding of transient segments and a strategic approach to surpass budgeted occupancy, average daily rate (ADR), and revenue goals.

The incumbent will be entrusted with managing transient inventory controls, conducting daily reviews, and implementing controls for rate and inventory within their portfolio of hotels. They will leverage EOS Hospitality revenue management tools to analyze and forecast demand, establishing dynamic selling strategies and optimizing market mix seasonally to drive RevPAR (Revenue per Available Room) improvements. This leadership role requires ongoing competitor pricing analysis to ensure the hotels maintain competitive rate positioning and product offerings relative to competition, coupled with the responsibility to facilitate weekly revenue strategy meetings and generate insightful reports for management.

Beyond pricing and inventory controls, the role involves close collaboration with property teams and the Regional Director of Revenue to recommend and implement new revenue management initiatives. The Area Director will monitor transient and group production, ensuring an optimal guest mix is maintained, and all promotional plans comply with established guidelines. The position also requires maintaining updated revenue management tools and conducting regular audits to enforce rate parity and availability across distribution channels.

Travel constitutes approximately 25 percent of the role, enabling the Area Director to engage hands-on with multiple properties and teams to drive revenue success. This role demands a strategic thinker with excellent analytical skills and a proactive, outgoing personality capable of inspiring teams through innovative lead-by-example leadership. The company offers an annual salary range of $110,000 to $140,000 for this position, reflecting the seniority and responsibility associated with the role.

Job Requirements

Job Duties

  • Optimize RevPAR by analyzing and forecasting demand and establishing effective selling strategies including optimal and seasonal market mix using EOS Hospitality revenue management tools
  • Conduct ongoing competitor price and product analysis to ensure proper rate positioning and product offering relative to competition
  • Work with the Revenue Management team on pricing decisions for transient and promotional offers and dynamic pricing rules
  • Implement pricing strategies for transient segments including monthly and weekly pricing and analyze competitor-pricing analysis to ensure correct daily and seasonal rate positioning
  • Establish and maintain minimum standards for Transient Room Sales including weekly Yield Meetings, PMS rate configuration, and standardized reporting
  • Provide a monthly analysis to management complete with speculation on future performance of all market segments including Rate, Occupancy, REVPAR, and REVPAS
  • Manage and update current selling strategies and product information in all available distribution channels and reservation sources including PMS, third-party reservations providers, call centers, websites
  • Facilitate weekly Revenue Strategy meetings
  • Work with the Regional Director of Revenue in recommending and implementing Revenue Management programs and new initiatives at the hotel
  • Work with property teams to establish strategies to increase revenue of both rooms and F&B
  • Generate and distribute weekly and monthly revenue management reports and present results from all segments including annuals, RV, and Cabins
  • Maintain accurate and detailed historical data for all market segments
  • Continually monitor all pertinent travel related websites to ensure competitiveness in positioning, text, availability, and price
  • Maximize the property’s revenues by monitoring transient and group production, ensuring that an optimal guest mix is maintained
  • Compile data, analyze trends, and develop accurate weekly and monthly forecasts
  • Critically analyze the impact of the revenue management strategies implemented by the properties including pricing
  • Ensure that all promotional plans are built in accordance with established guidelines
  • Update and maintain all revenue management tools
  • Ensure the Property's position in the distribution channels is consistent with the Property's Selling Strategies including conducting rate parity and availability audits
  • Deal effectively with people, create teamwork, take charge, generate enthusiasm, motivate, and use an uplifting and lead-by-example leadership approach
  • Respond to any reasonable task as assigned by supervisor or manager
