The role of Senior Food & Beverage Director is a critical leadership position within Azul Hospitality Group, responsible for overseeing and directing Food & Beverage operations across multiple esteemed properties including Le Méridien/Element Salt Lake City, Bryce Canyon Pines, Red Cliffs Lodge Moab, and Red Cliffs Lodge Zion. The Senior Director provides strategic leadership and operational guidance to ensure consistency in service quality, profitability, and alignment with brand standards across all outlets such as restaurants, bars, banquets, and in-room dining.

This position requires a dynamic leader to plan and direct the Food & Beverage functions, balancing daily operational demands with long-term strategic goals. The Senior Director collaborates closely with property leadership teams, including General Managers, Executive Chefs, and department heads, to develop and manage budgets, implement cost control and revenue enhancement strategies, and maintain strong vendor and supplier relationships. They are responsible for leading teams through training, coaching, and performance evaluations, fostering a culture of excellence and exceptional guest service.

In addition to overseeing operational performance, the Senior Food & Beverage Director continuously monitors industry trends to keep offerings competitive and appealing, updating menus and beverage selections accordingly. Travel is an essential component of this role, with up to 50% expected to visit and support various properties. Knowledge of regulations, health and safety standards, and compliance requirements is critical to ensuring smooth and lawful operations.

Job Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age to serve alcohol
  • High school or equivalent education
  • 5-7 years Food & Beverage operation experience
  • 4 years management experience
  • Culinary, sales and service background
  • Safe Server Alcohol & Food Handlers certification
  • Ability to provide and maintain a valid driver’s license
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Intermediate computer proficiency
  • Knowledge of food products and preparation standards
  • Ability to work independently and handle multiple properties
  • Willingness to travel up to 50 percent
  • Ability to lift up to 45 lbs and perform physical tasks
  • Must adhere to Azul Hospitality grooming and attendance policies

Job Qualifications

  • High school or equivalent education
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred
  • 5-7 years of Food & Beverage operational experience
  • 4 years of management experience
  • Culinary, sales and service background
  • Safe Server Alcohol & Food Handlers certification
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Knowledge of federal, state and local employment laws
  • Strong leadership and customer relations skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities
  • Intermediate computer skills
  • Ability to analyze budgets and provide solutions
  • Knowledge of Windows OS, MS Office, PMS, PBX, Key system, and POS

Job Duties

  • Oversee all Food & Beverage operations across multiple properties
  • Plan and direct Food & Beverage functions to meet operational and business goals
  • Provide strategic leadership to Food & Beverage teams ensuring service consistency and financial performance
  • Monitor industry trends and update menus and beverage lists as necessary
  • Collaborate with property leaders to develop and monitor budgets
  • Maintain vendor and supplier communication for seasonal offerings rollout
  • Participate in inventories and ensure accurate reporting
  • Develop and implement revenue and cost containment strategies
  • Manage staffing plans and schedules for Food & Beverage operations
  • Collaborate with culinary and sales teams on menu creation and event support
  • Manage payroll and attendance compliance
  • Implement food, beverage, and labor cost controls
  • Maintain quality and consistency across all Food & Beverage operations
  • Lead and coach teams to achieve guest service and staff satisfaction goals
  • Arrange and supervise training including cross-training and retraining
  • Serve as a role model adhering to company policies and standards
  • Travel to assigned properties as needed to support operations and performance
