Job Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in security, law enforcement, or customer service
- Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends
- Strong observational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Reliable and trustworthy character
- Physically capable of performing patrol and standing duties
- Willingness to undergo background check and drug screening
Job Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Previous experience in a security or customer service role preferred
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Good physical fitness for patrol duties
- Basic first aid knowledge is an advantage
- Familiarity with local area and community resources
- Professional appearance and demeanor
- Valid driver’s license if patrol requires vehicle operation
Job Duties
- Serve as goodwill ambassadors, information sources, and positive welcoming advocates for the District
- Communicate Kansas City resources, sites of interest, and current entertainment options to assist shoppers and visitors
- Interact with business representatives and tenants to foster communication and provide support
- Patrol designated areas by bicycle, vehicle, and on foot, supporting the Kansas City Police Department, Kansas City Public Works, and maintenance crews by reporting problem areas and needs via communication devices
- Assist with first aid and emergency situations
- Represent the District and the Public Safety Program in a professional manner at meetings and special events
- Complete daily activity reports and other assignments as directed by the Operations Manager or designated supervisor
- Participate in special assignments, both individually and collaboratively
- Support cleanliness efforts by helping maintain a safe and welcoming environment throughout the District
- Maintain a visible and professional security presence to deter unauthorized or suspicious activity
- Conduct regular patrols of assigned areas (interior and exterior) to ensure the safety and security of the premises
- Monitor security systems, alarms, and surveillance equipment as required
- Respond promptly and effectively to incidents, emergencies, or disturbances, following company protocols
- Document all incidents and suspicious activity accurately in daily reports
- Enforce site-specific rules, regulations, and client policies consistently and respectfully
- Provide excellent customer service while interacting with employees, visitors, and clients
- Control access to buildings or restricted areas by verifying identification and credentials
- Report safety hazards, maintenance issues, or other concerns to appropriate personnel
- Work collaboratively with site supervisors, clients, and law enforcement when needed
