Job Description

Ohana Pacific Health stands as Hawaii's largest and locally owned post-acute healthcare company with a firm commitment to positively impacting thousands of lives each year. Their organizational culture, known as the "Ohana Experience," is rooted in excellence and genuine care, reflecting the company’s mission to enhance the quality of life and wellbeing of their community. This dedication to compassionate care and innovative healthcare solutions positions Ohana Pacific Health as a leader in transforming how healthcare is delivered throughout Hawaii. The company values mission-driven individuals who are passionate about making a meaningful difference and growing within a supportive and driven team environment.

The position available is that of a Cook, a critical role entrusted with creating memorable experiences for the Kupuna—the elder community members—by preparing, cooking, and serving delicious and nutritious meals. This role goes beyond mere meal preparation; it supports all activities within the department, including both kitchen and dining areas, ensuring a seamless and high-quality food service operation. Cooks are responsible for maintaining excellent standards in meal quality and service, including strict adherence to special dietary needs specific to the health requirements of the Kupuna. Additionally, they are tasked with cleaning and sanitizing food service locations and equipment, upholding stringent sanitation and safety measures.

This full-time or casual position offers flexible shifts with varied timings, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, and specific hours on Sundays and weekdays, providing opportunities for a work-life balance. The role is designed for individuals who have knowledge of menu planning, food preparation methods, and inspection of food items, alongside a keen understanding of kitchen management principles such as sanitation, safety, and personal hygiene. Ohana Pacific Health fosters a mission-driven culture where employees are encouraged to grow and advance professionally, whether through tuition reimbursement programs or through engaging with a dedicated team that values a sense of Ohana—family.

As an Equal Opportunity Employer, Ohana Pacific Health guarantees employment decisions without discrimination based on race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, age, disability, genetic factors, veteran status, or any other protected characteristic. This reflects their commitment to creating an inclusive workplace where all employees can thrive. The company also participates in the E-Verify program as required by law.

Joining Ohana Pacific Health as a Cook means becoming part of a passionate, dedicated team that supports your professional growth while making a vital contribution to the health and happiness of the community. This role demands a balance of culinary skill and compassionate care, with a focus on delivering quality meals that nourish body and spirit. Job seekers with a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a heart for service will find this position rewarding, both personally and professionally.
