Training and mentoring are key components, as individuals will assist Apprentice Bartenders and Bar Porters in understanding bar functionality, guest service nuances, and bartending techniques.
This position involves responsibilities such as managing bar inventory, maintaining cleanliness, handling cash procedures including daily reports, and working closely with management and other staff members to maintain seamless operations. Creativity is encouraged through the use of specialized tools for crafting fresh juices, infusions, and molecular cocktails that elevate the guest's experience. Effective communication and sales skills are essential, as the role includes upselling food and beverage offerings to enhance guest satisfaction.
Ideal candidates will bring over five years of relevant experience in bar or similar service environments, preferably with exposure to fine-dining service and resort settings. Strong English communication skills, both oral and written, are necessary, and applicants must meet the legal drinking age requirement of at least 21 years old. Job Duties
- make, serve, and demonstrate complex knowledge of alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks available, proportioning ingredients according to standardized recipes
- maintain bar inventory according to set pars and internal controls and the cleanliness of the bar and equipment
- account for poured or served beverages, collect payment, and follow all cash handling and variance procedures, including preparing daily reports and submitting appropriate paperwork
- provide apprentice bartender and bar porter with training and mentoring on overall function of the bar, guest service and bartending
- demonstrate proficiency in food service, knowledge of menu, allergies, and other potential guest restrictions, including proper marking, clearly, and table side service
- resolve guest complaints within scope of authority, otherwise refer the matter to management, notify supervisor and/or Security of all unusual events, circumstances, missing items, or alleged theft
- utilize special tools and culinary equipment to prepare items like fresh juice a la minute, infusions, molecular style cocktails, cutting ice, and production of presentations items
- maintain effective communication with management, bartenders, and lateral departments to fully accommodate any guest or employee needs
- utilize sales techniques to upsell food and beverage products available in the outlet while dedicating to refinement resulting in polished yet artistic cocktails, serving to elevate the guests' experience
