Job Requirements
- At least 18 years of age
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- willingness to work flexible hours including weekends
- ability to stand for extended periods
- excellent communication skills
- basic math skills for portion control and order taking
- commitment to safety and sanitation standards
Job Qualifications
- No high school diploma required
- 0 to 6 months experience in bakery or related field preferred
- ability to learn product knowledge and bakery procedures
- strong customer service skills
- ability to follow safety and sanitation regulations
- basic knowledge of merchandising principles
- willingness to develop cake decorating skills
- team player with good communication skills
- ability to lift up to 50 pounds
- at least 18 years of age
Job Duties
- Learn product knowledge and procedures including product information by category, special orders, cake program, portion control, seasonal items and mixing colors
- follow proper procedures to ensure store meets out-of-stock percentage goals
- apply merchandising principles to generate sales and wow the guest
- maintain safety as the top priority for team members, guests, and products
- provide exemplary customer service by greeting customers and assisting them in locating products
- become familiar with products to answer questions and make suggestions
- properly handle products and equipment in compliance with food safety and safety guidelines
- actively demonstrate appropriate suggestive selling techniques
- prepare and decorate products for Bakery cases and displays, rotating product and ensuring code dating procedures
- provide active sampling opportunities when appropriate
- accurately record special orders to ensure customer satisfaction
- maintain cleanliness of equipment, tables, utensils, floors, and work areas
- maintain proper safety and sanitation methods including emergency procedures and housekeeping
- assist in maintaining bakery backroom, cooler and freezer efficiency
- maintain department procedures including daily setups and order taking
- assist in other areas as required
