The role of Appliance Delivery Helper, also referred to internally as Deliver Experience Cadet, is critical to Best Buy's mission of providing exceptional customer service and support. This position involves assisting with the delivery, installation, repair, and haul-away of appliances and other equipment, contributing directly to customer satisfaction. The delivery helper is responsible for handling various order fulfillment duties such as delivering appliances, integrating home theater equipment, networking consumer electronics, and performing basic repairs. This dynamic role requires physical stamina to handle heavy lifting, technical aptitude for installations, and excellent customer interaction skills.

Deliver Experience Cadets regularly attend appointments independently or sometimes lead a two-person crew to complete installations and repairs. They determine the safest and most efficient methods for moving major appliances into customer homes, including measuring pathways, protecting surfaces, and removing doors or fixtures if necessary. Additionally, they are expected to remove and reinstall doors and panels, provide expert advice on product placement and services for a seamless client experience, manage inventory and vehicle maintenance, and handle paperwork and payment processing. This role often requires working closely with store teams to provide feedback and complete in-store repairs.

This position requires a high level of responsibility and attention to detail, as well as the ability to work independently or with a crew under varying conditions. Candidates should expect to engage in both physical labor and customer service, combining technical know-how with professionalism. Job Requirements

  • 6 months of customer service, sales, installation, or large product delivery experience
  • Current, valid driver’s license
  • Have and maintain a driving record that meets Best Buy’s safety standards
  • Ability to lift 350 pounds individually or 700 pounds as a team with the use of support tools such as a harness, dolly or lift with or without reasonable accommodation
  • Be at least 21 years old
  • Acquire and maintain any state or local licensing as required within 90 days of being hired

Job Duties

  • Attend to appointments individually or leading a two-person crew up to 30 percent of the time, including completing basic complexity installation and repair of home theater equipment and appliances
  • Determine best way to bring major appliances into homes and final locations, including measuring and protecting areas in route, deciding if any doors in home need to be detached or fixtures moved
  • Remove and re-install doors and panels as necessary
  • Provide a seamless client experience by providing advice on product placement, services and other content
  • Manage inventory and vehicle maintenance in partnership with other team members
  • Process paperwork and payment, provide feedback to the store teams and complete in-store repairs
