Job Description
Flynn Group, founded by Greg Flynn in 1999, began its journey by acquiring eight Applebee's restaurants. Over more than two decades, the company expanded substantially through building new stores and acquiring other franchise operators, establishing itself as the largest Applebee's franchisee globally. With over 460 Applebee's restaurants across 24 states, Flynn Group's strong foundation has enabled it to expand beyond Applebee's into various other well-known brands and industries. Flynn Group now owns and operates an expansive and diversified portfolio that includes iconic brands such as Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. This growth and diversification underline its position as the world's largest franchise operator, with a mission to be the premier operator within each of its brand segments.
Flynn Applebee's is one of the seven premier brands under the Flynn Group umbrella. The company emphasizes a culture grounded in core values—Care Genuinely for People, Play like a Champion, and Win as One—reflecting its commitment to create meaningful, enjoyable experiences for guests and staff alike. Flynn Group prides itself on fostering leadership, teamwork, and dedication to quality service across all levels of its operations.
As an Applebee's Assistant Manager, you will play an integral role in managing day-to-day restaurant operations. This full-time role, with a projected total compensation ranging from $63,000 to $73,000 per year, requires leadership, problem-solving skills, and a passion for guest experience. You will be responsible for ensuring that each guest interaction and staff engagement is positive, supportive, and engaging. The position demands an ability to excel under pressure, manage teams effectively, and participate hands-on in various restaurant positions, including cooking, expo, seating, and bartending.
Your responsibilities will center on providing timely, friendly service, maintaining product and presentation standards, managing inventory, scheduling staff, and ensuring safety and cleanliness standards are met. You will actively cultivate the culture and values of Flynn Applebee's, handle guest complaints with immediacy and professionalism, and promote staff development through effective training, feedback, and evaluation. This role demands attention to detail, from food and liquor inventory management to maintaining compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
The Assistant Manager will be expected to lead by example, demonstrating exceptional organizational, communication, and technical skills. You will foster an environment where quality recruitment, training, and continuous growth are prioritized. The role involves physical demands including standing for prolonged periods, lifting objects up to 50 pounds, and working flexible shifts including weekends. Certifications such as Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol are considered a plus.
Flynn Group offers a comprehensive benefits package including 401(k) plans with matching contributions, health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, paid training, employee discounts, and flexible scheduling. The company is committed to diversity, inclusivity, and creating a supportive work environment for all employees. If you are passionate about restaurant management and are eager to contribute to a leading franchise operator's dynamic team, Flynn Applebee's is an excellent opportunity to advance your career in a rewarding and growth-oriented environment.
