The role of an Applebee's Assistant Manager at Flynn Group is a dynamic and integral position within the restaurant’s day-to-day operations. As an Assistant Manager, you will engage in a broad range of responsibilities to ensure the restaurant operates smoothly and guests have an exceptional experience. Job Requirements
- Ability to work various shifts including weekends
- Ability to stand and exert mobility for up to ten hours
- Ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
- Ability to read and write to facilitate communication
- Finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment
Job Qualifications
- At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
- Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications are a plus
Job Duties
- Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit
- Cultivates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of core values and beliefs
- Ensures the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff
- Ensures guest contact as a priority with completion of required table visits established by Flynn Applebee's standards
- Maintains departmental inventory levels
- Ensures product preparation and presentation uncompromisingly meeting company standards by performing line checks
- Effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands
- Maintains effective safety and security programs
- Promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation
- Performs routine maintenance and reports needed repairs to General Manager/Area Director
- Promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates
- Implements Flynn Applebee's training procedures for new managers
- Maintains trained staff through use of orientation, training sessions, meetings, and company policy implementation
- Participates in employee development using One-on-One meetings and performance documentation
- Provides fair feedback and works with employees on development
- Monitors employee performance and documents disciplinary situations
- Assures compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures
- Controls costs in assigned department
- Complies with local, state, and federal laws and regulations
- Drives bi-weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories
- Prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork
- Ensures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards
- Provides a role model for managers and employees
- Develops self on all store related technology
- Works in all restaurant positions as needed
- Uses the Management Development Program for continuous leadership growth
