The position of Assistant Manager at Flynn Applebee's is integral to ensuring the smooth and effective day-to-day operations of the restaurant. This full-time role, offering a projected total compensation of $65,000 to $75,000 annually, requires a dynamic individual who can inspire both guests and staff with passion and energy. The Assistant Manager is expected to be a natural leader, adept in problem-solving, stress management, and team motivation. Responsibilities in this position include ensuring timely and friendly guest service, managing employee schedules to meet sales demands, and maintaining high standards of food preparation and presentation. The Assistant Manager cultivates the restaurant's culture in alignment with Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of values, handles guest complaints swiftly and effectively, and upholds sanitation, safety, and security programs rigorously. The position is also responsible for inventory control, managing day-to-day paperwork accurately, and promoting continuous staff development through training and performance evaluations.

Assistant Managers at Flynn Applebee's are also expected to be versatile, willing to step into various roles such as cooking, bartending, seating guests, or performing line checks as necessary. Leadership development is supported through the company's Management Development Program, ensuring ongoing growth in skills and proficiency. Job Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
  • Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol Certifications a plus

Job Duties

  • Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit
  • Cultivates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of our core values and beliefs
  • Ensures the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff
  • Ensures guest contact as a priority with completion of required table visits established by Flynn Applebee's standards
  • Maintains departmental inventory levels
  • Ensures product preparation and presentation uncompromisingly meeting company standards by performing line checks
  • Effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands
  • Maintains effective safety and security programs
  • Promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation
  • Performs routine maintenance and immediately reports to the General Manager/Area Director of needed repairs
  • Promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates
  • Promotes Flynn | Applebee's training procedures for new managers
  • Helps maintain a trained staff through effective orientation, individual training sessions, meetings, and implementation of company policies and training systems
  • Participates in the development of employees using One-on-One and performance documentation and contributes to written evaluations
  • Assesses employee efficiency, provides regular feedback, and works with employees on development
  • Monitors acceptable employee performance and documents situations requiring disciplinary or corrective action
  • Assures compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures
  • Responsible for controlling costs in assigned department
  • Compliance with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines
  • Drives bi-weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories as requested and is accountable for completion
  • Prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork
  • Assures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards
  • Provides a role model for managers and employees
  • Develops self on all store related technology
  • Willing and able to work in all positions and assist in team member position as needed
  • Uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies
