Job Description
Flynn Group, founded by Greg Flynn, began its journey in 1999 with the acquisition of 8 Applebee's restaurants. Over two decades, Flynn Group has evolved from a small franchise operator into the largest Applebee's franchisee globally by continuously expanding through new store openings and strategic acquisitions of other franchise operators. Today, Flynn Group owns and operates over 460 Applebee's restaurants spanning 24 states, marking a significant footprint in the casual dining industry.
Flynn Group is distinguished not just by its size but also by its diversification into seven premier brands and various industries. Beyond Applebee's, Flynn Group owns and operates a diverse portfolio of iconic, world-class brands including Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. This broad presence across multiple segments highlights Flynn Group's commitment to excellence in franchise operations and its vision to be a premier operator within each brand.
At Flynn Group, the mission centers around core values that drive the company culture: Care Genuinely for People, Play like a Champion, and Win as One. These principles encourage teamwork, integrity, leadership, and a customer-first approach across all levels of the organization. This strong cultural foundation supports the company's ongoing growth and success.
The Applebee's Assistant Manager plays a vital role in maintaining the high standards of Flynn Applebee's, one of Flynn Group’s flagship brands. This full-time position, with projected total compensation starting at $60,000 per year, places the Assistant Manager at the center of day-to-day restaurant operations, responsible for ensuring exceptional guest experiences and efficient staff management. The role demands a hands-on leader who can motivate the team, solve problems creatively, and maintain a positive, energetic work environment.
In this role, the Assistant Manager ensures that all aspects of the restaurant operate seamlessly, from guest service quality and timely response to complaints, to food preparation and equipment maintenance. They lead by example, participating in daily operational tasks such as cooking, bartending, and guest seating when necessary, fostering a unified team atmosphere. Besides operational duties, the Assistant Manager supports recruitment, training, and employee development programs aligned with Flynn Applebee’s standards, emphasizing continuous growth for team members and future leaders.
This leadership role requires juggling multiple responsibilities including inventory management, scheduling to meet fluctuating sales demands, and adherence to safety, sanitation, and regulatory compliance. The Assistant Manager collaborates closely with General Managers and area directors to ensure smooth execution of company policies and achievement of financial controls, including cost management and accurate record keeping.
Flynn Group values diversity and inclusion and is committed to providing accommodations for individuals with disabilities throughout the application process. Working at Flynn Applebee's offers a dynamic and rewarding career path, grounded in a culture that values genuine care for people, teamwork, and professional excellence. If you are passionate about hospitality and leadership, and eager to grow within a supportive and high-energy environment, this Assistant Manager role provides a perfect opportunity to advance your career.
