The role of an Applebee's Assistant Manager within Flynn Group is an engaging leadership position focused on overseeing all facets of daily restaurant operations. Job Requirements

  • Ability to work various shifts including weekends
  • ability to stand and exert well-paced mobility for up to ten hours
  • ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds
  • ability to read and write for communication
  • possess finger and hand dexterity for using small tools and equipment

Job Qualifications

  • At least 2-3 years restaurant management experience
  • Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol certifications also a plus

Job Duties

  • Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit
  • cultivates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of core values and beliefs
  • ensures the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff
  • ensures guest contact as a priority with completion of required table visits established by Flynn Applebee's standards
  • maintains departmental inventory levels
  • ensures product preparation and presentation uncompromisingly meets company standards by performing line checks
  • effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands
  • maintains effective safety and security programs
  • promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness, and sanitation
  • performs routine maintenance and immediately reports to the General Manager/Area Director of needed repairs
  • promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates
  • promotes Flynn | Applebee's training procedures for new managers
  • helps maintain a trained staff through effective use of employment orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings and implementation of company policy and training systems
  • participates in constant development of employees using One-on-One and performance documentation and contributes to written evaluations
  • assesses employee efficiency, provides fair feedback, and works continuously on employee development
  • monitors acceptable employee performance and documents situations requiring disciplinary or corrective action
  • assures compliance with company policies, practices, and procedures
  • controls costs in assigned department
  • ensures compliance with local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines
  • drives bi-weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories and is accountable for completion
  • prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork
  • assures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards
  • provides a role model for managers and employees
  • develops self on all store-related technology
  • must be willing and able to work in all positions and assist in a team member position as needed
  • uses the Management Development Program for continuous growth of leadership skills and proficiencies
