Job Description
Flynn Group, founded by Greg Flynn in 1999, began its journey with the acquisition of eight Applebee's restaurants. Over the last two decades, the company has expanded significantly, not only by opening new locations but also through strategic acquisitions of other franchise operators. This growth has established Flynn Group as the largest Applebee's franchisee in the world, owning and operating over 460 Applebee's restaurants across 24 states. As part of this impressive expansion, Flynn Group has diversified into multiple other brands and industries, becoming the largest franchise operator globally.
Flynn Group's portfolio includes seven premier brands, with Flynn Applebee's being a key segment. Beyond Applebee's, the company operates restaurants under iconic brands such as Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and even fitness centers like Planet Fitness. The company's primary mission is to be the premier operator within each brand it manages, and this is achieved by maintaining a strong focus on its core values: Care Genuinely for People, Play Like a Champion, and Win as One. These principles guide the company's culture, operations, and community impact.
The role of an Applebee's Assistant Manager at Flynn Group is vital to the success of each restaurant. This full-time position offers a competitive annual salary ranging from $56,000 to $62,000, reflecting the importance and responsibility of the role. The Assistant Manager is deeply involved in all aspects of daily restaurant operations, working tirelessly to ensure that every guest and team member is passionate about their experience at Applebee's.
As a key leader, the Assistant Manager sets a tone of excellence and dedication, cultivating a team-oriented environment where all employees can thrive. The position requires excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to manage stress effectively, and a willingness to lead by example. Responsibilities include ensuring friendly, timely service aligned with company standards, responding swiftly and appropriately to guest complaints, and maintaining inventory and safety standards.
Assistant Managers also play a crucial role in staff development, recruitment, and training. They utilize company training programs to continuously enhance their leadership skills and assist in employee evaluations and performance feedback. Moreover, they ensure compliance with company policies and all relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations.
This role demands flexibility and a hands-on approach, requiring the Assistant Manager to work various shifts, including weekends, and to assist in all restaurant positions as needed—from line cooking and bartending to seating guests and expediting orders. Physical stamina is essential, as the role involves standing and moving for long periods, lifting items up to 50 pounds, and maintaining high standards of cleanliness and organization.
Flynn Group welcomes individuals who are passionate about leadership, customer service, and team growth. The company emphasizes diversity, inclusion, and reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities, fostering an inclusive work environment. With comprehensive benefits such as health, dental, and vision insurance, paid time off, 401(k) plans with matching, and employee discounts, Flynn Group provides a supportive and rewarding atmosphere for its employees.
Joining Flynn Group as an Applebee's Assistant Manager offers an exceptional opportunity to develop a career within the largest franchise operator in the world. The position not only challenges candidates to excel in restaurant management but also provides substantial support and resources for personal and professional growth. If you thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and are committed to delivering outstanding guest experiences, this role could be the perfect fit for your ambitions.
