Job Description
Flynn Group, founded by Greg Flynn in 1999, began its journey by acquiring eight Applebee's restaurants and has since grown into one of the largest franchise operators globally. With a robust foundation built on opening new stores and strategic acquisitions, Flynn Group now operates over 460 Applebee's restaurants across 24 states in the U.S. Beyond Applebee's, the company's diverse portfolio includes several iconic brands such as Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness, making it a leader in the restaurant and fitness franchise industry. Flynn Group is committed to operational excellence and community engagement, driven by core values including genuine care for people, champion-level performance, and unity among its teams.
The role of the Applebee's Assistant Manager within Flynn Group is dynamic and integral to the daily success of the restaurant. This full-time position offers a competitive salary range of $65,000 to $78,000 per year and plays a crucial role in maintaining the high standards of service, quality, and operational efficiency that Applebee's is known for. As an Assistant Manager, you will engage with every aspect of the restaurant's operations—from leading and motivating the team to managing inventory and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations. This role requires strong leadership, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Your responsibilities will include enforcing company service guidelines to deliver timely and friendly experiences to guests, cultivating a positive culture aligned with Flynn Group's core values, and handling guest complaints promptly and effectively. You will oversee employee scheduling to match sales demands, maintain inventory levels, and ensure that product preparation meets strict company standards through routine checks. Additionally, you will play a key role in staff development, coaching employees to improve their skills and performance, conducting evaluations, and participating in recruitment to build a strong team.
Safety, cleanliness, and sanitation are paramount at Applebee's, and as Assistant Manager, you will uphold these standards to exceed health department requirements. Your leadership will extend to promoting the Flynn Applebee's training programs, supporting new manager development, and utilizing management tools for continuous improvement. Adaptability is important, as you will be required to work in various positions within the restaurant as needed, including cooking, hosting, bartending, and more. The position also demands physical stamina to work extended shifts and the ability to lift heavy items safely.
Flynn Group is proud to provide a supportive and inclusive workplace. The company is an equal opportunity employer that fosters diversity and provides accommodations throughout the employment process. The Assistant Manager position not only offers a rewarding career path within a respected franchise but also opportunities for personal and professional growth supported by a comprehensive benefits package.
