As an Applebee's Assistant Manager within Flynn Group, the role integrates comprehensive responsibilities for day-to-day restaurant operations. Employment is full-time with a competitive salary range between $65,000 and $78,000 annually. The ideal candidate will lead by example, actively engaging in various operational roles including cooking, guest seating, bartending, and expo duties as needed. The Assistant Manager will also be responsible for managing inventory, scheduling staff based on sales demands, ensuring compliance with company policies and local regulations, and participating in employee training and recruitment efforts. Physical requirements of the job include the ability to work various shifts, stand and move around for extended periods, and safely lift items weighing up to 50 pounds. Candidates with two to three years of restaurant management experience are preferred, and certifications such as Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol are advantageous. Job Duties

  • Ensures timely, friendly service according to company guidelines, achieving established objectives of the unit
  • cultivates a culture in accordance with the Flynn Applebee's Premier Card of core values and beliefs
  • ensures the immediate response and correction of all verbal guest complaints to self and staff
  • ensures guest contact with completion of required table visits established by Flynn Applebee's standards
  • maintains departmental inventory levels
  • ensures product preparation and presentation meets company standards by performing line checks
  • effectively schedules employees to meet sales demands
  • maintains effective safety and security programs
  • promotes and leads restaurant organization, cleanliness and sanitation
  • performs routine maintenance and reports needed repairs
  • promotes quality recruitment and referrals of potential team members and management candidates
  • promotes Flynn Applebee's training procedures for new managers
  • helps maintain a trained staff through effective use of employment orientation, individual training sessions, employee meetings and company policy implementation
  • participates in employee development using one-on-one sessions and performance documentation
  • assesses efficiency of employees, provides fair feedback and works with employees on development
  • monitors employee performance and documents situations needing disciplinary or corrective action
  • ensures compliance with company policies, practices and procedures
  • controls cost in assigned department
  • ensures compliance with local, state and federal laws, regulations and guidelines
  • drives bi-weekly/weekly food and liquor inventories at the request of Area Director/General Manager and is accountable for completion
  • prepares and submits accurate daily paperwork
  • assures sanitation standards meet or exceed Health Department and Flynn Applebee's standards
  • provides a role model for managers and employees
  • develops self on all store related technology
  • works in all positions as needed including cooking, seating guests, bartending, and expo
