Job Description
Flynn Group, founded by Greg Flynn, embarked on its journey in 1999 with the acquisition of 8 Applebee's restaurants. Over the past two decades, the company has expanded significantly by not only building new stores but also acquiring other franchise operators. This strategic growth has enabled Flynn Group to become the largest Applebee's franchisee globally, currently operating over 460 Applebee's restaurants across 24 states. Flynn Group is recognized as the largest franchise operator worldwide, owning and managing an extensive portfolio of iconic and world-renowned brands that span diverse segments in the restaurant and fitness industries. Among the premier brands under Flynn Group are Applebee's, Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. This wide-ranging portfolio showcases Flynn Group's commitment to excellence and its ability to thrive in various competitive marketplaces.
Flynn Applebee's is a key brand within this portfolio, distinguished by its dedication to delivering exceptional dining experiences. The company prides itself on its core values: Care Genuinely for People, Play like a Champion, and Win as One. These principles guide every aspect of their operations and define the culture within their restaurants. As part of this dynamic and growing enterprise, Flynn Applebee's is seeking a passionate and dedicated Assistant Manager for their restaurant team. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary of up to $65,000 per year, with a comprehensive benefits package.
The role of an Applebee's Assistant Manager is integral to the smooth operation and success of the restaurant. This position requires an individual who is heavily involved in every aspect of daily operations, ensuring that both guests and staff have an outstanding experience. The Assistant Manager will be expected to lead by example, showing strong leadership skills, effective problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to perform under stress. The job demands a hands-on approach, where the Assistant Manager may also actively participate in various roles such as cooking, guest seating, bartending, and more when necessary. The goal is to inspire passion and teamwork among employees and create a welcoming atmosphere for guests.
Essential duties include maintaining timely and friendly service consistent with company standards, fostering a culture aligned with Flynn Applebee's core values, and promptly addressing any guest complaints. The Assistant Manager will oversee inventory control, ensure food quality and presentation meet strict company guidelines, manage staff scheduling efficiently, and uphold rigorous safety and sanitation standards. This role also involves regular interaction with employees to support their development through training, feedback, and performance evaluations. Compliance with all local, state, and federal laws, along with company policies and procedures, is paramount. The Assistant Manager will be responsible for cost control within their department and assist in maintaining overall cleanliness and organization of the restaurant.
In addition, this position requires physical stamina as it involves standing and moving for up to 10 hours, handling various tasks that may include lifting heavy items, and working various shifts including weekends. Certifications such as Serve Safe Food and Serve Safe Alcohol are advantageous. Flynn Group values diversity and inclusivity and provides reasonable accommodations for applicants with disabilities. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to advance their career in restaurant management with a reputable and expansive company committed to training, growth, and employee success.
