Job Description
Flynn Group, established by Greg Flynn in 1999, began its journey with the acquisition of eight Applebee's locations. Over the past two decades, Flynn Group has grown exponentially through building new stores and acquiring other franchise operations, becoming the largest Applebee's franchisee in the world. With over 460 Applebee's restaurants spread across 24 states, Flynn Group has built a strong foundation that has allowed it to diversify and expand its operations into various brands, countries, and industries. Flynn Group now proudly owns and operates a diversified portfolio of restaurants including some of the most iconic and world-class brands such as Applebee's, Arby's, Panera Bread, Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, Wendy's, and Planet Fitness. This diverse portfolio underscores Flynn Group’s commitment to being the premier operator within each brand by adhering strictly to their core values of caring genuinely for people, playing like a champion, and winning as one united team.
Flynn Applebee's, one of the seven premier brands under Flynn Group, plays a significant role in the organization’s success by delivering exceptional guest experiences every day. The Applebee's Assistant Manager position is crucial to maintaining this commitment. This full-time role offers a competitive salary range between $60,000 and $75,000 annually. As an Assistant Manager at Applebee’s, you will be deeply engaged in the day-to-day operations of the restaurant, ensuring that every guest and staff member shares passion and enthusiasm for their experience. You will take on the role of a team leader and problem solver, handling stressful situations calmly and rising above challenges. The position is demanding, requiring hard work and dedication, but it also promises a highly enjoyable and rewarding experience.
Key responsibilities include ensuring timely and friendly service in line with company standards while achieving the established objectives of the unit. You will cultivate a positive work culture aligned with Flynn Applebee's Premier Card core values and promptly resolve guest complaints. Maintaining departmental inventory levels, product quality, and presentation standards are integral to the role. Effective scheduling to meet sales demands, promoting safety, cleanliness, sanitation, and security within the restaurant are also essential duties. Additionally, you will oversee routine maintenance and collaborate with the General Manager or Area Director to address necessary repairs.
The Assistant Manager also plays a significant role in recruitment, training, coaching, and performance evaluation of staff, ensuring they have continuous development opportunities to enhance their skills. They are expected to comply with company policies, cost control measures, and relevant local, state, and federal laws and regulations. From driving food and liquor inventories to managing daily paperwork and sanitation standards, the responsibilities cover all operational facets. Moreover, the role demands a hands-on approach, where the Assistant Manager must be willing and able to work in any position necessary, whether cooking, bartending, or guest seating. Self-development through the Management Development Program is encouraged to enhance leadership skills and professional growth.
This position requires at least 2-3 years of restaurant management experience, with Serve Safe Food and Alcohol certifications being advantageous. Flexibility to work various shifts including weekends, physical stamina to stand and move continuously for up to 10 hours, and the ability to safely lift items up to 50 pounds are important physical requirements. Flynn Group is committed to diversity, inclusion, and providing reasonable accommodations for individuals with disabilities, making it an excellent employer for those seeking a supportive and dynamic work environment.
