Job Description
Maxus Properties, founded in 1987, is a prominent player in the property management industry known for overseeing a diverse portfolio of rental housing. This portfolio includes both market-rate apartments and affordable housing options. Maxus specializes in revitalizing underperforming assets, drawing on a combination of experienced personnel and cutting-edge technology to enhance the value and appeal of their properties. Their primary goal is to maintain high resident retention and occupancy rates, ensuring a thriving and satisfied resident community throughout their managed properties.
At the Village at Lionsgate, one of Maxus Properties' managed communities, the Maintenance Technician role is a vital position contributing directly to the upkeep and functionality of the community. This role involves a broad range of responsibilities encompassing various trades such as plumbing, electrical work, HVAC, carpentry, and landscaping. Maintenance Technicians are responsible for conducting regular inspections designed to prevent potential maintenance issues and promptly address any repair needs. The position requires collaboration within a dedicated team of four technicians, working Monday to Friday from 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM with rotating on-call weekends, ensuring that residents always have access to maintenance support when needed.
The Maintenance Technician position includes the opportunity to obtain EPA/HVAC certification within 60 days of hiring, with reimbursement available for candidates who pass on their first attempt. This reflects Maxus Properties’ commitment to professional development and investment in their employees’ growth. Technicians actively participate in preparing apartments for new residents, including lock changes, move-out inspections, and coordinating vendor services when necessary. They also assist with semi-annual property inspections related to fire safety and pest control, contributing to the overall safety and livability of the community.
Maxus Properties values effective communication, leadership, compassion, and time management skills. They expect their Maintenance Technicians to be reliable, detail-oriented, and safety-conscious, able to multitask efficiently while navigating sensitive information discreetly. These qualities ensure that the property is maintained to the highest standards and that residents enjoy a safe and comfortable living environment.
Maxus is deeply committed to supporting their team members through a comprehensive benefits package, continuous training, and creating a positive work environment. Employees benefit from a remarkable bonus structure, inclusive events, generous vacation packages, and opportunities to participate in focus groups and committees. Safety and equal opportunity are paramount, with all qualified candidates undergoing drug testing and background checks as part of the hiring process. This role is in-person, located at the Village at Lionsgate, providing a stable work schedule and a supportive team environment.
