We are currently seeking experienced maintenance professionals to fill roles as Maintenance Tech Leads and Supervisors in Fort Wayne, IN. This position offers a competitive pay rate of $28 to $32 per hour, reflecting the value and expertise expected from candidates. The Maintenance Lead role is an excellent opportunity for motivated, organized, and reliable individuals who possess strong leadership skills and are ready to oversee maintenance operations within apartment communities. Reporting directly to the property manager, the Maintenance Lead is responsible for directing the maintenance team to ensure all service requests are completed promptly and to a high standard.

In this role, the Maintenance Lead will manage various maintenance activities including electrical, plumbing, appliance repairs, installations, and replacements. Specific tasks involve handling electrical circuits, switches, receptacles, breakers, and light fixtures, as well as repairing and installing appliances such as stoves, refrigerators, washers, and dryers. Plumbing responsibilities include fixing toilets, sinks, vanities, and disposals. Additionally, the role covers minor carpentry, caulking, window screens, blinds, interior and exterior doors, minor painting, drywall repair, removal of bulk trash including appliances, and clearing drains and sewer lines up to 4 feet.

The Maintenance Lead also plays a vital role in managing vacant apartments, ensuring they are prepared efficiently for new leases, and maintaining the overall appearance of the grounds by keeping them free from debris and trash. Above all, providing excellent customer service to residents is paramount, as the Maintenance Lead represents the property management company and fosters positive tenant relationships.

This position requires individuals to have in-depth knowledge of maintenance repair and service, relevant apartment maintenance experience, and strong leadership and management capabilities. While HVAC certification is preferred, candidates must be physically capable of lifting up to 40 pounds and climbing ladders. Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as the flexibility to work weekends when necessary.
