The Apartment Attendant role at JP Allen Apartments is a pivotal position responsible for the upkeep and cleanliness of the community’s exterior and common areas. This hourly position pays $20.00 and demands a strong sense of urgency and a commitment to excellence to maintain the fine details that contribute to the property’s curb appeal. The attendant’s duties revolve around ensuring the apartment community and its amenities are impeccably clean and visually appealing to all five senses. This involves regular cleaning of leasing offices, tour paths, model apartments, laundry rooms, recreational areas, elevators, stairwells, pools, and other community shared spaces. The role also includes the removal of debris such as pet waste, cigarette butts, and trash, along with tasks like washing windows, cleaning curbs, sidewalks, pool decks, and furniture.
Further responsibilities include maintaining lighting fixtures in common areas and replacing light bulbs when necessary, vacuuming hallways, securing the building after hours by locking doors, and adhering strictly to company policies and safety standards as outlined by OSHA guidelines. This position requires physical stamina and the ability to handle heavy lifting, repetitive physical activities, and prolonged standing or walking throughout a traditional workday. The job may also require flexibility to work nights, weekends, or holidays.

Candidates with basic communication skills, some experience in housekeeping, especially in hotel environments, and bilingual capabilities in English and Spanish are preferred. Job Requirements
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and/or holidays
- Frequently handling objects and equipment to maintain the facility
- Ability to carry, push, move and lift large, bulky and/or heavy objects up to 50 pounds and pulling up to 20 pounds
- Ability to perform tasks that may require prolonged standing, walking, repetitive bending, and other physical activities
Job Qualifications
- Basic written and verbal communication skills
- High school diploma
- Some housekeeping experience in a hotel environment
- Bilingual (English/Spanish)
Job Duties
- Practice, train and implement company policies especially those relating to safe work practices in accordance with OSHA standards
- Walk the property daily to clean the leasing office, tour path, model apartments, laundry rooms, recreation rooms, elevators, stairwells, pools, amenities and ensure general curb appeal of the community is pleasing to all five senses and is impeccably clean
- Perform cleaning and removal of trash and other debris including but not limited to pet deposits, cigarette butts, emptying trash cans in common areas, pet stations, debris from around the dumpster area as well as vacant units
- Wash common area windows and screens, curbs, entrances, sidewalks, pool decks and furniture and other surfaces as needed
- Clean light fixtures and replace light bulbs in common areas
- Regularly upkeep the entire community including vacuuming hallway areas
- Monitor building by locking doors after operation hours
- Adhere to the policies and procedures manuals
- Perform all other duties as assigned
