Job Description

The Ansonborough is a distinguished boutique hotel nestled in Charleston's historic district, embodying the essence of Southern hospitality with a rich architectural heritage. Originally a stationer's warehouse, the building has been meticulously transformed into an intimate luxury inn, preserving classic design elements such as high ceilings, rich wood paneling, and rustic beams, while showcasing curated decor that reflects the vibrant local culture. This unique blend of tradition and modern comfort creates an inviting atmosphere for guests seeking a personalized and story-rich hospitality experience. The hotel's commitment to excellence is evident not only in its aesthetic appeal but also in the high standards it sets for service and guest satisfaction. Joining The Ansonborough means becoming part of a team dedicated to maintaining the warmth and refinement that define this exceptional property.

As a Cook at The Ansonborough, you play a pivotal role in bringing culinary artistry to life across multiple outlets, including the on-site restaurant, café, room service, employee cafeteria, and special banquet events. This position requires a dynamic culinary professional who can expertly prepare and supervise food items with precision, ensuring that every dish delivered meets stringent quality, portion, and presentation standards. Beyond cooking, the role demands leadership skills to guide and support kitchen staff, fostering an efficient and harmonious work environment that consistently achieves high-quality food and service delivery. The ideal candidate thrives in fast-paced settings and embraces creativity, attention to detail, and proactive problem-solving to maintain smooth kitchen operations. Clear communication is essential, as you will liaise with coworkers and guests to address concerns and enhance the overall dining experience. Maintaining a spotless and organized kitchen environment is equally important, upholding sanitation and safety protocols to ensure compliance with health regulations. Additionally, managing time effectively to coordinate timely food preparation and service solidifies the seamless delivery that guests expect. This full-time position offers competitive compensation and, following an initial waiting period, eligibility for a comprehensive benefits package. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, short-term and long-term disability income, term life and AD and D insurance, paid time off, an employee assistance program, and a 401k retirement plan. There is also the added perk of daily pay availability, providing financial flexibility for team members. The Cook at The Ansonborough is more than a kitchen role; it is an opportunity to contribute to a boutique workplace characterized by historic charm, refined ambiance, and dedicated service, perfect for culinary professionals passionate about delivering unforgettable dining experiences while growing their careers in a supportive environment.
