The Ansonborough is a distinguished boutique hotel located in the heart of Charleston's historic district, renowned for its blend of Southern hospitality and elegant charm. This unique property transforms the city's rich architectural heritage into an intimate luxury inn experience. Originally a stationer's warehouse, the hotel seamlessly merges historical elements such as high ceilings, rustic wood beams, and intricate wood paneling with carefully curated décor that reflects the local culture and heritage. Guests at The Ansonborough enjoy some of Charleston's most spacious guestrooms, where tradition meets modern comfort. The hotel's inviting and elegant atmosphere makes it an ideal destination for travelers who seek personalized and story-rich hospitality, underscoring the establishment's dedication to exceptional service and refined ambiance.

Joining The Ansonborough team means contributing to a warm, refined environment where every staff member plays an essential role in delivering exceptional guest experiences. As a boutique workplace, the property values a collaborative and supportive culture, perfect for individuals who appreciate a close-knit, yet professional workplace. The Ansonborough fosters an environment where Southern charm and modern hospitality come together, allowing employees to flourish and grow while contributing to a memorable stay for every guest.

The role of Cook II at The Ansonborough offers a dynamic opportunity for culinary professionals who aspire to elevate their skills and contribute significantly to the hotel's esteemed dining services. This position encompasses preparing and supervising food across all outlets, including the restaurant, café, room service, employee cafeteria, and banquets. The Cook II is expected to maintain a reliable and efficient kitchen operation, ensuring that every dish not only meets high standards of taste and presentation but also upholds the hotel's commitment to quality and guest satisfaction.

As Cook II, you will serve as a culinary craftsman, bringing creativity and attention to detail to every dish prepared. This role demands someone who thrives under pressure and can lead a team effectively, coordinating with kitchen staff to uphold operational excellence. Problem-solving and proactive management of the kitchen workflow are vital to ensure smooth and timely service. Additionally, maintaining cleanliness and adhering to strict sanitation and safety protocols is a cornerstone of this position.

This role is ideal for a culinary professional with at least five years of progressive experience or a culinary graduate with relevant hotel or hospitality experience. Certification in food handling and the ability to communicate clearly and professionally with both colleagues and guests are essential. The Cook II at The Ansonborough is a proactive and organized individual who anticipates needs and maintains composure during busy service periods.

The position offers full-time employment with an attractive benefits package available after an initial waiting period. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, life and disability insurance, paid time off, an employee assistance program, and a 401k retirement plan. Additionally, the property offers a daily pay option, underscoring its commitment to employee satisfaction and financial wellness.

Working at The Ansonborough means being part of a team dedicated to creating unforgettable dining and lodging experiences through skill, passion, and collaboration.
